It currently works in 60 districts through various programs on issues relating to improving the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable populations through programs that work on the following themes: food security and climate change; emergency preparedness and DRR; migration and urbanization; sexual reproductive and maternal health; gender based violence; women and girls’ leadership. Core priorities include investment in the empowerment and leadership of women and girls, reaching hard to reach population, good governance and accountability, working in partnership and alliance with like-minded actors, and evidence-based advocacy.

CARE Nepal hereby invites applications, for the below mentioned positions, from interested Nepalese candidates for a five-year integrated nutrition project, Suaahara Program II (SP II) which is being funded by USAID and implemented in the lead of Helen Keller International, in 40 districts of Nepal. The SP II is a followon to the Suaahara Project with the goal of improving the nutritional status of women and children in Nepal.

1. Program Specialist – Health Services (based in Rupandehi)

Key responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation of the various health programs in close collaboration with Regional Health Directorates and District (Public) Health Offices, SP II District teams of the western, mid-western and far-western districts. S/he will also work closely with Regional / Linkage Office(s) and District Offices of the SP II and contribute through effective leadership for the district level component by mentoring and guiding the district level MNCH & GESI Officers.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Masters Degree in Public Health or related Social Science and possess at least 3 years of experience in a similar field in health sector at national/ regional level.

2. Program Officer – Health Services (based in Kathmandu)

Key responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluation of the various health programs in close collaboration with MoH, DoHS, Regional Health Directorates and District (Public) Health Offices, SP II central teams. S/he will also work closely with Regional / Linkage Office(s) and District Offices of the SP II and contribute through effective support to the central team and district level MNCH & GESI Officers.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health/Nursing with 3 years of work experience in maternal and Child Health or Master’s Degree in Public Health/Nursing or related field with at least 1 year of work experience in MNCH.

3. Maternal Newborn Child Health and GESI Officer (3nos, based in Arghakhachi, Jajarkot and Doti)

Key responsibilities:

The MNCH & GESI Officers will be responsible to provide technical support to the project team and partners in the process of planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and advocacy of project approaches and activities especially the Health Services component and GESI integration across project scope of work. S/he will be required to provide technical support in designing package and implementation of MNCH activities, collect & document relevant case studies, process documentation as part of disseminating project’s effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health/Nursing or a relevant degree with 2 years of work experience in maternal, newborn and child health and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI).
