PIN currently invites applicants for the position of Field Officer

Position Opening: 1

Reporting to: Project Manager

Duration:  September – November 30, 2017 (3 months, possibility of extension)

Place of assignment:  Rasuwa district, Nepal

Starting date: ASAP

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under direct supervision of the Project Manager, Field Officer is responsible for supporting local partner organizations in project delivery in the assigned VDCs, data collection, monitoring and coordination with Gaupalikas.

Main responsibilities:

  • Act as PIN Focal Point in the designated VDC location and work closely with PIN’s Field Coordinator.
  • Support and monitor project delivery by local partner organizations. Report as required.
  • Participate in community mobilization for cash for work activities on trail rehabilitation works.
  • Ensure the appropriate and relevant inclusion of all groups within target communities within the project – including marginalized groups, women, girls, low-caste groups, and all others. Ensure that PIN’s inclusion guidelines are adhered to by partner organizations’ staff.
  • Conduct assessments and data collection in the field on VDC as well as household level in order to identify the beneficiaries’ needs, along with the MEAL team.
  • Liaise with VDC level coordination mechanisms and other agencies in the same areas of operation; ensure exchange of lessons learnt and good practices.
  • Build rapport with targeted group, be able to represent PIN professionally and politely while in remote field sites.
  • Ensure that the project activities are conducted in compliance with both PIN’s and donor’s values, rules and regulations, especially anti-corruption, transparency and accountability principles.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of PIN’s programs in coordination with Line Manager.
  • Perform any other tasks as requested by PIN’s district management.

Qualifications and requirements: (for example)

  • B.A. in Rural Development, Social Work or any related field.
  • Work experience in the field of infrastructure rehabilitation, construction or similar.
  • Experience working with NGO/iNGOs in the area of rural development
  • Experience working and living in rural and remote areas
  • Highly motivated and committed
  • Pro-active approach and effective problem-solving
  • Respectful, polite and friendly demeanor while working with the communities
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency with MS Office and MS Excel
