The organization was successful in bringing attention of the government, key donors, UN agencies and stakeholders to address severe acute malnutrition both in terms of treatment and prevention through Generation Nutrition Campaign where more than 39 different organizations shown their solidarity. Currently operational in 5 districts (Makwanpur, Nawalparasi, Nuwakot, Saptari and Rasuwa), it is fighting hunger through different programme intervention viz. Nutrition and Health, Mental Health and Care practices, WASH, and food security & livelihood. The organization now seeks to strengthen its initiatives around Disaster Risk Reduction to help establish integrated and resilience building approach to all its programmes.

Water Sanitation And Hygiene Manager

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure technical implementation of integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) activities;
  • Develop ACF understanding on WASH issues;
  • Manage and supervise WASH program staffs;
  • Strengthen partnerships in the areas of his/her intervention and participate in coordination and representation;
  • Ensure proper reporting of the programmes;
  • Maintain  smooth coordination with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Contribute to the quality, accountability and impact measurement process of his/her program; and
  • Participate in the administration procedures of the organization associated with programme activities.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Civil engineering, Environmental engineering or relevant sector.
  • At least four (4) years of work experience in WASH program including strengthening WASH sector governance, Functionality & Sustainability of the WASH services & Partnership management of which 3 years should be in a similar position. An experience with INGOs will be  an added value
  • Capacity of handling large scale rural water supply schemes and able to provide technical support to team and partners.
  • Budget management
  • Excellent management skills (HR, projects, stress/conflict management)
  • Ability to organize, train and motivate a team and work with local partners
  • Excellent diplomatic and negotiation skills
  • Disciplined and able to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication  and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of the local dynamics and good representation skills (liaison with local authorities, representation with national and international agencies, etc)
  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English and Nepali Excellent computer skills including navigating email, internet and MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work under pressure as well as set and manage priorities
