We are looking for young, ambitious Nepali National / Foreign / Schengen / Swiss residents in Nepal for the following position:

Assistant to Ambassador’s Office (4 years fixed – term contract with possibility of extension)

In close collaboration with the Senior Executive Office Manager. the Assistant to the Ambassador’s Office supports the Ambassador/ SDC Country Director and the Head of Cooperation, SDC in managing 1) contacts with Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) and external stakeholders (e.g. other diplomatic missions, international development agencies, offices of the Government of Nepal, etc.); 2) effectively managing their day-to-day calendars and associated services e.g. managing request for vehicle and driver for meetings; and 3) drafting communications on behalf of the Ambassador addressed to the Swiss colony in Nepal as necessary in coordination with the Consular Section.

The incumbent shall be responsible for preparing formal letters and Note Verbales. He/she will provide relief to the Senior Executive Office Manager as well as undertake other secretarial tasks and responsibilities as/when assigned by the Ambassador/Country Director SDC or Head of Cooperation.

Required Technical Competence

Bachelor degree in Business Studies, Business Management, or other relevant field; Diploma in Secretarial Science;
2 years of experience in relevant field; excellent spoken and written English and Nepali; written and spoken fluency in French and/or German (Swiss national language) is required: excellent knowledge and aptitude of computer and different software applications; excellent communication skills. including ease of communication with diplomatic missions and offices of the Government of Nepal.
