Organization: Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland

Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland have signed a bilateral agreement to initiate a SMALL IRRIGATION PROGRAMME (SIP) – PHASE I, in nine districts of Nepal namely Ramechhap, Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Udayapur, Sindhuli, Achham, Dailekh, Jajarkot and Kalikot. Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) will provide a financial and technical supports to Government of Nepal (GoN) represented by Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (MoFALD) and its Department of Local Infrastructure and Agricultural Roads (DoLIDAR).

Joint-Venture (JV) of GEOCE Consultants (P) Ltd., Total Management Services Pvt Ltd. (TMS) and Aviyaan Consulting (P) Ltd, has set up a – TA team on behalf of SDC. In order to supplement its team, the JV is now seeking applications from the qualified and experienced Nepali Nationals for the following positions:

1.

Position Title: Senior Irrigation Engineer

Qualifications & experience:

• A MSc degree in civil/irrigation/water resources engineering; a relevant training would be an additional asset; preferably 10 years’ experience working in small irrigation schemes; working with the local governments including substantial experience both in planning, designing and implementing small-scale irrigation schemes; Proven experience of participatory approaches and training is essential; Excellent GIS skills; Excellent computer skills; autoCAD skills would be an asset. Fluency in written and spoken English and an ability to write clear concise reports is required. An extensive field visit to the programme areas is foreseen for the position.
Duration of Employment:
The initial contracts for this positions is for the period up to February 2019, with the possibility of extension.

Position Title: District Irrigation Engineer

Job Openings: Few positions in programme districts

Qualifications & experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with preferably 5 years’ experience in planning and design of small irrigation systems and have experience in working with local government. S/he should be familiar with the use of GPS survey methodologies, be proficient in use of GIS and Auto CAD software

The initial contracts for this positions is for the period up to February 2019, with the possibility of extension.

Position Title: Sub Engineer

Job Openings: 1 position

Duty Station: Sindhuli District

Qualifications & experience :

• IE in civil engineering from a recognized university or Diploma in Civil Engineering from CTEVT preferably with minimum of 5 years’ general professional experience with at least one-year experience in planning/ design/construction of irrigation schemes. Experience in the use of GPS survey methodologies and knowledge in use of GIS and AutoCAD software will be an asset.

Position Title: Assistant Sub Engineers

Job Openings: Few positions in programme districts

Qualifications & experience :

• TSLC from CTEVT preferably with 3 years’ experience in planning and design small scale irrigation schemes. Familiar with the use of GPS survey methodologies and the use of GIS and AutoCAD software.
