National NGO Coordinator

Tearfund is looking for a National NGO Coordinator to:

  • Successfully coordinate the “Accelerating Localisation through Partnerships” grant in Nepal, a flagship and exciting high-profile project supported by a leading global humanitarian donor across multiple stakeholders
  • Reach out to and engage diverse national NGOs, with the support of the national NGO Steering Committee (NSC), and consortium members, to build networks and engage in coordination
  • Manage the project work plan ensuring timely adjustments in line with the contract documents, with the support of the NSC and senior management of the focal point agency in Nepal
  • Take lead with NSC in planning and implementing the project activities together with the NSC and in line with the Specific Grant Agreement project documents and donor requirements
  • Ensure an appropriate reporting mechanism and process, and draft narrative and financial reports, in compliance with donor requirements
  • Convene the NSC and facilitate consensus in plans, reports and methodology
  • Manage the programme’s alignment with implementation of key humanitarian standards
  • Assist and/or help lead independent and external studies, research projects, evaluations
  • Ensure that the programme MEAL framework and tools are in place and used which help document evidence of achievement of project outcomes, changes, and lessons gathered through identified processes. Carry out regular surveys from inception
  • Outreach and work with national and local organisations to help improve partnership models that support localisation and strengthen the role and voice of national actors in leadership of humanitarian response
  • Liaises closely with a diverse range of other Accelerating Localisation through Partnership stakeholders ranging from: wider civil society in Nepal as necessary to meet the programme outcomes including ICVA and Charter for Change members as relevant; the grant consortium; other localisation champions in Grand Bargain signatories, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, ECHO, UN agencies especially UN OCHA, government, as well as stakeholders with divergent views
  • You will have speaking and writing proficiency in Nepali and be fluent and competent in written and spoken English, You will possess good communication, interpersonal and networking skills
