Good Neighbors Nepal (GNN)

Good Neighbors Nepal (GNN) is a national NGO working in Nepal since 2002 with the objective of improving the lives of people, especially community through education, livelihood activities, health services, WASH, advocacy, network building, Open Defecation Free Campaign and disaster risk reduction. GNN invites application for following positions for Urban Agriculture and Economic Development (A & ED) Project in Kathmandu with the funding of World Vision International Nepal (WVIN).

Project Coordinator: (One)

Job Purpose: Lead the Urban Agriculture and Economic Development project by ensuring compliance with WVIN’s sectoral and quality standards; Plan, implement and monitor the performance of the project and ensure project delivery are on time and follow budget projection; ensure appropriate analysis and project results; engage with government line agencies and other I/NGOs; and coordinate with WVIN Agriculture and Economic Development Team.

Minimum Qualification and Experience required: 

  • Bachelor in Agriculture or relevant discipline with three years (preferable) of experience in Market led Livelihood project (preferably value chain projects),
  • Good understanding of Project cycle
  • Sound knowledge of value chain development and solid waste management.
  • Basic knowledge of saving groups
  • Good report writing skill on Nepali and English both language.
  • Good computer skill including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Good staff management skill
  • Should not have engaged in any anti-child activities

MEAL Officer: (One)

Job Purpose: Collect, compiles, analyse and verify the information collected from community in a way that provides accurate and valid information and database;  provide necessary support for periodic baseline, evaluation and monitoring process in the assigned program areas; responsible to improve the quality of programmes and information management through improved monitoring and accountability system.

Minimum Qualification and Experience required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science or development studies in the field of M&E with two years of experience in I/NGO
  • Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Good knowledge of analytical report writing.
  • Knowledge to develop tools to collect the information against indicator
  • Good knowledge of data collection méthodologies – qualitative and quantitative
  • Should not have engaged in any anti-child activities

Admin and Finance Officer ( One)

Job Purpose: Planning, reporting, monitoring and supervision of financial system; implementation of allocated budget and able to prepare financial reports; record keeping and reporting, documentation& filing; and managing payment and advance request as per WVIN compliance.

Minimum Qualification and Experience required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting/finance with at least one-year working experiences in finance and accounting sector,
  • Knowledge of periodic financing reporting of donor and excellent skills in technical accounting.
  • Knowledge of finance/accounting principles and practices
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements regarding financial and taxation
  • Technical accounting skills include good computer skills-MS office and proficiency in relevant accounting software
  • Knowledge of data management and analysis,

Should not have engaged in any anti-child activities field


Officer/ Mobilizer: (Two )

Job Purpose: Work with producer groups, and build their capacity so that they can have access to lucrative and sustainable markets; facilitate SWOR analysis of producer group; and facilitate producer group meeting and ensure effective implementation.Also work with saving groups to encourage saving of the community people and waste collectors/pickers to encourage waste management and income generation.

Minimum Qualification and Experience required: 

  • Intermediate in the relevant discipline (JT/JTA preferable) with at least 2 years experiences on Market Led/Value chain projects in the similar capacity.
  • Preference will be given to those who have knowledge of empowerment, business development, and market opportunities.
  • Implementation skills on planned activities
  • Good reporting skills
  • Good understanding of financial management system like supporting documents for the voucher, advance settlement process etc.
  • Good communication skills to deal with project team and stakeholders
  • Should not have engaged in any anti-child activities

Market Coordinator: (Two)

Job Purpose: Work with producers (farm and off-farm) for enhancing their knowledge and understanding on value chain analysis;seek opportunities and constraints of the value chain; formulation innovate market hypothetical; coaching to the producers & guide them to gain access to the sustainable market for increasing income; and network and liaise with government line agencies, I/NGOs and business groups.

Minimum Qualification and Experience required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or relevant discipline with at least 2 years experiences on Market Led/Value chain projects in similar capacity.
  • Preference will be given to the candidate who has sound knowledge on market and market system and value chain analysis.
  • Sound knowledge on value chain development and solid waste management.
  • Sound knowledge & skill on risk analysis and management
  • Skills to analysis project related data and incorporate in the report
  • Good understanding on financial management system like supporting documents for voucher, advance settlement process etc.
  • Good communication skills to deal with project team and stakeholders
  • Knowledge on business plan and value chain development.
  • Good computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Should not have engaged in any anti child activities
