Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Translating Services

PHASE Nepal is a not for profit NGO established in 2006 by a group of development professionals dedicated to supporting poor communities in remote areas of Nepal. For the last 12 years PHASE Nepal has been implementing Health, Education, and livelihoods improvement programmes in Humla, Bajura, Mugu, Gorkha and Sindhupalchowk districts.

PHASE Nepal is looking for a skilled translator or group of translators for one specific translation task.

Specification: The successful candidate will translate a series of medical guidelines from English into the Nepali language. Some parts of the text are already translated into Nepali but have been amended in the English version, so the translator would have to revise these. Total source text-approx 70,000 words. Timeline – to be finished by end of July 2018.

Requirement: The translator must have a good understanding of medical English and has to be able to work with the authors to achieve the best results. PHASE reserves the right to assess a sample translation and to break the contract if the quality of translation does not meet requirements.
