PHASE Nepal is a not for profit NGO established in 2006 by a group of development professionals dedicated to supporting poor communities in remote areas of Nepal. For the last 11 years PHASE Nepal has been implementing Health, Education and Livelihoods improvement programmes in Humla, Bajura, Mugu, Gorkha, Sindhupalchok and Kavrepalanchok districts.  Currently, PHASE Nepal’s projects health, education, livelihoods, and reconstruction are funded by the number of institutional and individual donors from different countries. PHASE has over 140 staff working on different projects.

 PHASE Nepal is currently looking for the following position:

  1. Project Manager (School Construction) – 1 (24 Months)

Duty Station: PHASE Office, Bhaktapur (more than 70% field based)

Qualification and experiences: The candidate should have Master’s Degree with basic degree in Civil Engineering preferably specialization in building construction or construction management with a minimum of 3 years experience (after their Master’s Degree) in managing similar projects in managerial level with a demonstrable record of accomplishment of best performance. Must have excellent English and Nepali language, IT and reporting skills. Should be able to produce high quality technical as well as narrative reports of the project activities independently.

Basic Salary and Benefits: NRS 64,000 per month (basic starting salary scale) plus 10% provident fund after three months of the probation period, one month’s salary as a festival bonus after working for a year plus medical facility and insurance.

Responsibilities: The Construction Manager will be reporting to the Programme Manager and is responsible for overall management of the project activities including planning, implementation, monitoring and coordinating with relevant stakeholders. S/he will be supervising project staff and frequently visit the project areas. There will be transport expenses covered plus DAs during field visits. This position needs long stretches of time in construction site so if you have limitation for that please do not apply.
