HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal is a Swiss non-governmental organization actively contributing to the improvement of the living conditions of poor and disadvantaged people in Nepal. On behalf of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Trail Bridge Support Unit (TBSU)/HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal provides technical assistance to the Government of Nepal for implementation of trail bridge program under Sector-Wide Approach (SWAp). TBSU/HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation Nepal invites applications from Nepali citizens for the following positions:
1. Position: Technical Officer (2)
Duty station: Dharan with frequent travel to the field (at least 70% time field accompaniment). However, based on the project’s need, the place of posting can be changed to any of the TBSU cluster offices.
Qualification : Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3 years’ work experience preferably in trail bridge building.
Major Roles and Responsibilities
The Technical Officer will be responsible to:
- assist Trail Bridge Engineer for capacitating regional partner by co-working to provide technical assistance to the respective District Coordination Committees (DCCs)/Municipalities/Rural Municipalities
- ensure that DCCs/Municipalities/Rural Municipalities construct bridges in coherence with the National Policy, Trail bridge strategy (TBS) /Local Infrastructure Development Policy (LIDP) and its core manuals,
- monitor the physical progress and quality of each bridge through data entry and update of Program management Information System (PMIS) and Trail Bridge Strategy Information System (TBSIS) of all these DCCs/Municipalities/Rural Municipalities,
- ensure all Social organisation support (SOS) and thematic matters,
2. Position : Storekeeper
Duty station : Pokhara
Qualification : S.L.C. pass with 2 years’ work experience in store handling. Having driving license of motorbike and vehicle will be added value.
Major Roles and Responsibilities
The Storekeeper will be responsible to:
- receive bridge materials at the assigned store and issue the same as per the set procedure to the Users Committees (UCs), NGOs, DCCs, Municipalities, Rural Municipalities and other agencies as required.
- check the materials as per set standards and specifications, quantities and sizes.
keeping proper inventory of all materials at his/her assigned store location. - perform housekeeping tasks
Duration : up to July 2019

3. House Keeper
4. Position: Regional Coordinator (2 – at least one is reserved for women candidates)
Job Purpose: This position will require overall coordination with all stakeholders, in the respective area/region in accordance to the ENSSURE programme document to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects’ activities, develop coordination, program monitoring and evaluation and feedback mechanism in collaboration with central PSU, training providers, and partner industries and Industry association/local chambers, collaborate and network with area based PIU/CTEVT, NSTB, District Education Offices and other stakeholders/partners for the smooth implementation of the various activities of the Project.
Reporting to: Capacity building specialist
Required Education, Experience and Social competence: Master degree in Business Management or in any relevant discipline. Minimum 5 years’ of working experience in project/programme implementation with 2 years of working experience in TEVT sector with similar position/s, working experience with industry associations/chambers will be an advantage. 5. Position: Monitoring Officer (2)
Job Purpose: This position will require ensuring the quality through timely monitoring and reporting of the project activities including skill development trainings, career counselling activities and supporting partner companies in preparation of Human Resource Development Plan and improvement of Occupational Health and Safety.
Reporting to: Regional Coordinator (Respective)
Required Education, Experience and Social competence: Minimum Bachelor’s degree. At least 3 years of working experience in the field of monitoring and evaluation of the project implementation. Working experience in TEVT or Industrial sector will be an advantage. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion and poverty reduction.
Duty station: Kohalpur or Itahari (with frequent field visits in the assigned area/region)
Duration: Initially for 3 years
