POLICY AND GOVERNANCE SPECIALIST (Based in Kathmandu)

Major Responsibilities: The Policy and Governance Specialist supports the Senior Director- Policy and Governance to drive all aspects of WWF policy work at national, regional and international level. This position will support in mapping policy gaps from WWF’s program perspectives and review policy requirements in WWFs work both on the ground and in proposals. S/he supports the development of new concepts, ideas and proposals as per WWF’s areas of interest. S/he provides feedback as required to foster professional relationship with the government bodies and other development partners to ensure integration of WWF’s conservation interests in national policies and programs.

Qualifications: A Master’s degree in conservation, law, international development or related field with at least 5 years’ relevant experience in conservation, environment and development or policy work is required. Demonstrated experience of managing large complex programs and budgets is desirable. Proven working experience with governments aid agencies, civil society, and NGOs is required.

PROGRAM ASSOCIATE – TERM ARC LANDSCAPE (Based in Kathmandu)

Major Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of Program Manager – Terai Arc Landscape (TAL), the Program Associate- TAL will support planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the assigned projects of Terai Arc Landscape. S/he will also be involved in managing and administering WWF Nepal’s projects in TAL areas in coordination with partners, stakeholders and donors. This position requires 5o% travel to the field areas.

Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in Forestry science, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Science or a related field is required with at least 2 years’ experience in natural resource management and community based conservation.

PROGRAM ASSOCIATE -WII.DIHETRADE MONITORING (Based in Kathmandu)

Major Responsibilities: The Program Associate -Wildlife Trade Monitoring will help plan, implement and manage the project and program activities of anti-poaching and illegal trade control under Wildlife Trade Monitoring Unit, WWF Nepal. S/he is responsible for the implementation of anti-poaching and anti-trafficking activities in TAL, SHL and other National Priority areas with a special focus in mountain areas.

Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in Forestry, Environment Science or related field and sound knowledge of Protected Ares System, Species Conservation, Wildlife Crime issues and Community based Conservation is required. The incumbent should have at least 2 years’ working experience in species related issues. Proven experience working with governments, aid agencies, civil society, and NGOs is required.

MONITORING & EVALUATION ASSOCIATE – TAL CBRP, HARIYO BAN PROGRAM (Based in Kohalpur)

Major Responsibilities: The Monitoring and Evaluation Associate, Terai Arc Landscape Corridors and Bottleneck Restoration Project (TAL CBRP) for Hariyo Ban Program will assist in implementation of monitoring framework and activities of Hariyo Ban Program under the direct supervision of the M&E Specialist. S/he will be primarily responsible for maintaining and updating the database system in close coordination with the program units and field office. S/he will assist the field offices in updating the datasheets and will make amendments in the data variables and the template as required.

Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in Environment Management, Development or a related field is required with at least 2 years of working experience in monitoring and database management. Knowledge and use of statistical tools is required.

PROGRAM ASSOCIATE – CHITWAN ANNAPURNA LINKAGE,. HARIYO BAN PROGRAM (Based in Pokhara)

Major Responsibilities: The Program Associate- Chitwan Annapurna Linkage (CHAL) will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of Hariyo Ban Program activities under CHAL program with a special focus in combating wildlife crimes activities. S/he will coordinate and collaborate with communities, CBAPUs and local implementing partners for execution of wildlife crime control program activities in CHAL areas.

Qualifications: A Bachelors degree in Forestry science, NRM, Environmental Science or a related field is required with at least 2 years of experience in natural resource management and community based conservation. It is essential that the incumbent is technically proficient and qualified in the conservation and crime control field of work.
