DanChurchAid (DCA) is a faith-based, non-missionary organization. We work for the poor, vulnerable and socially excluded communities and believe in life before death. In Nepal, we are involved in three thematic areas i.e. resilient livelihood and sustainable food security, active citizenship, and Humanitarian response and Disaster Risk Response.. The DCA invites applications from qualified and competent Nepalese candidates for the following position based in Kathmandu.
Program Manager– Active Citizenship– 1 number: This is a senior level and thematic lead position for our Active Citizenship Programme in Nepal. S/he will be responsible to provide result based strategic guidance, leadership management and capacity building to the DCA team and staff of partner organization in respective area and responsible for overall programme planning and strategy development, partner portfolio management, fund raising, and innovation in promoting the vision, mission, and strategic goals of DCA in general and our Active Citizenship programme in. S/he will pro-actively be involved in policy analysis, and advocacy, as well as dealing with governance and human rights. S/he is also responsible for monitoring and supervising field activities, developing annual country report and back donor’s reports, and guiding partners in technical and management areas as well as facilitate partners’ capacity development. In addition, responsible for developing liaison, coordination and collaboration with governments and other stakeholders at the national level networks and alliances. S/he will also develop concept notes, project proposal and contribute in fund raising activities. The position will be based in Kathmandu with frequent field visits. S/he will report to the Head of Programmes.
Required qualifications, skills and competencies:
Post-graduate degree in governance, or any relevant field ( politics, law, international development, social science). , At least 8 years of demonstrable work experience and comprehensive knowledge on governance, human rights issues, policy analysis and advocacy, and social inclusion and justice. S/he must hold practical knowledge and skills to apply different approaches and techniques, policy and institutional mandates, and standards in programme/project implementation. Should have field level work experience in good governance and experience in managing development programme and projects, and a proven capacity for delivering timely results and taking responsibility for quality outcomes. Well conversant in strategic management, results based project cycle management, partner portfolio management, accountability, fund raising, and knowledge management. Strong leadership, conceptual and analytical skills, team oriented and excellent communication skills, and advanced computer skills.
The candidate must have a personal commitment to social equity and equal rights and opportunities and adhere to the staff policies of DCA on Sexual Harassment and Anti-Corruption. DCA Nepal Country Programme needs people with excellent interpersonal communication skills and a good team spirit. Willingness to be flexible is essential.
