Location: Temporarily located to Kathmandu during COVID lockdown, re-located to Bagmati and Ghandaki Provincial Headquarters after lockdown

You will work closely with the Hub Team General Coordinator and the Hub Team Technical Coordinator as part of the District Coordination Team (DCT) in your assigned district to contribute to the HRRP post-earthquake housing reconstruction coordination efforts. You will organize, coordinate, monitor, find gap, duplication and report on the COVID-19, Housing Reconstruction and NDRRMA-related information at the field-level and coordinate submission of data and information to the HRRP national IM team.  You will act as the HRRP District-level IM focal point working closely with the district government authorities, Partner Organizations (POs), with different clusters and coordination mechanisms and other key stakeholders.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead data collection, analysis and visualization with key HRRP COVID-19 response strategy stakeholders, including SWC, UNRCO, clusters, AIN, NDRRMA
  • Work in coordination with relevant IM actors in maintaining common district level IM tools for data collection, collation, analysis, and dissemination, including archiving of baseline, key datasets, key indicators, and other tools
  • Assist in building and maintaining strong information sharing, communication and dissemination mechanism among POs, Cluster, local authorities and other humanitarian actors
  • Provide technical assistance to district stakeholders, Cluster and POs in information management, including data collection, verification, analysis of information, to support identification of coverage and gaps. Support capacity building and technical support activities to ensure effective impact
  • Prepare local level information products in the local language, such as analysis reports, maps, case reports, and other outputs. Provide data inputs to be used for district authorities and decision-making
  • Maintain and update timely various information at the district level and from district to HRRP website, such as the contact lists, meeting calendars, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Provide technical support to province government to act as information management focal person for the province on behalf of NDRRMA and other clusters, including hazard mapping

Basic Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, information management preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in similar position and similar in field
  • Proficient in web designing and desktop publishing along with data management and reporting through MS packages
  • Experience in field data and information management in emergency response and recovery operations is an advantage
  • Experience in Designing tool (Adobe Illustrate, InDesign etc.)
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS or any enterprise GIS software, Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) and software development tools
  • Experience working with an I/NGO preferred

Preferred qualifications

  • Local expertise w/ permanent address in project district and local language competency is a plus
