Backend Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a heavy-hitter backend developer to lead our technical integration with major partners including Khalti, SCT, and Global IME Bank. You will be responsible for building robust, low-latency APIs that can handle over 100,000 requests per month while maintaining the highest standards of data security and sovereignty.

Key Responsibilities

• API Architecture: Design and maintain scalable RESTful APIs that connect our behavioral engine with bank core systems and digital wallets.
• Security & Privacy: Implement military-grade encryption and data anonymization protocols to ensure user privacy and compliance with Nepal’s data residency laws.
• System Integration: Lead the technical pilot integrations with partners like SCT (SmartChoice Technologies) and Manjushree Finance.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure the system can handle "peak-time" loads (up to 3-5 requests per second) with zero downtime.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee our local Nepal-based data storage and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).

Job Specification

• Technical Stack: Proficient in Node.js, Python, or Go. Experience with PostgreSQL/MongoDB and Redis.
• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience, ideally in Fintech, Payment Gateways, or high-traffic SaaS environments.
• API Mastery: Deep understanding of OAuth2, JWT, and building secure, documented APIs.
• Fintech Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 8583 (optional but a plus) or banking integration workflows.
• Mindset: You thrive in a "Startup Sprint" environment. You are comfortable making high-stakes decisions with a $10k budget and tight pilot deadlines.
