About this role/ Role Overview

As a Senior BI Developer, you will be part of a team of data and technology experts, responsible for defining business needs and translating these into effective, scalable BI dashboards. You will work closely with the Head of Enterprise Data & Reporting and the Lead BI Engineer to maintain and develop end-to-end BI solutions. You’ll design, develop, and maintain reporting solutions, as well as supporting junior members of the team where applicable. You will work with variety of data sources and data tools both in-house and enterprise licenses to build an insight data and report visualization.

The ideal candidate would need to have an array of technical skills coupled with a strong ability to think critically/creatively, learn on the job, and act quickly to solve problems. You would be expected to use resources available to you in an efficient and innovative way.

Key Responsibilities

Ongoing maintenance and feature enhancements of existing data model and Power BI dashboards to make sure users have a seamless experience.

This includes data validation, data mapping/design, by accessing multiple sources, specifically data residing in data warehouses such as Redshift and Snowflake

Manage stakeholders and users through transparent communication and meeting the expectations

Meet with stakeholders/clients to understand key data challenges

Create and delivery projects against delivery timelines, regularly sharing the updates with client

Proactively identify and solve risks/issues causing delays in project delivery and escalating it to the relevant team/person

Developing and documenting blueprints/wireframes of the business reports based on requirements and adding innovative ideas to visualize the data in storytelling and visual appealing way

Maintaining solid documentation, operational processes, and ways of working to help you and the team operate more effectively and scalably

Technical Knowledge / Platforms

Required

Expert with the full Power BI suite, including Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX

Experience in data validation and data mapping/design, gathering business requirements, using industry standard tools to extract data, formulate metrics and build dashboards

Strong SQL skills & sound understanding of ETL concepts

Strong problem solving / troubleshooting experience /skills to assist in issue resolution

Should be able to work independently

Excellent communication skills (must be able to interface with both technical and business leaders in the organization)

Experience with Redshift and/or Snowflake would be advantageous

Experience and Qualifications

You will at least 4+ years’ experience working with BI tools in the Business Intelligence space – PowerBI experience strongly preferred

Any experience in media/ marketing/ advertising industry would be a great advantage

Any other additional tasks or responsibilities as required by the business.
