As a leading community-based organization, WDF works closely with local governments, communities, and development partners to strengthen women's leadership, promote good governance, and improve access to education, health, nutrition, livelihoods, and protection services. The organization has extensive experience in implementing projects on gender-based violence (GBV), comprehensive sexuality education, nutrition, agriculture, child rights, women's economic empowerment, and advocacy for policy reform. WDF also supports GBV survivors through the One Stop Crisis Management Center (OCMC) and community awareness initiatives. With strong expertise in institutional capacity building, research, evidence-based planning, and community system strengthening, WDF promotes sustainable development by empowering women, adolescent girls, and vulnerable groups, while fostering strategic partnerships and increasing local investment in women's rights and social justice.

Project Brief

Sabal Balika Sabal Samudaya (SABASS).

The Sabal Balika Sabal Samudaya (SaBaSS) Project is an integrated community development initiative implemented by Women Development Forum (WDF) Bajura in partnership with Plan International Nepal. The project adopts a multi-sectoral approach, focusing on Early Childhood Development (ECD), Education, Nutrition, Health, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and DRR. Through close collaboration with local governments, schools, health facilities, HMG, parents, and Child Club, the project aims "To improve the well-being, protection, and holistic development of vulnerable young children and strengthen the resilience of their communities through inclusive, gender-responsive, and climate-adaptive interventions". SaBaSS places special emphasis on empowering adolescent girls and marginalized children by improving access to quality education, promoting healthy behaviors, strengthening child protection systems, enhancing WASH services in schools and communities, and increasing community awareness of children's rights and gender equality. The project also supports the capacity of local institutions and community structures to ensure sustainable service delivery and long-term development outcomes and this project is implementing in Tribeni Rural Municipality since January 2026.
