Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in road, bridge, building, hydropower, or other infrastructure projects.

Experience in engineering risk assessment, project supervision, valuation, or insurance-related technical services will be an added advantage.

Registration with the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) is preferred.

Key Requirements

Sound technical knowledge of roads, bridges, buildings, hydropower, and other civil infrastructure projects.

Good understanding of engineering drawings, structural design, estimates, project specifications, and construction methodologies.

Strong analytical, report-writing, and documentation skills.

Ability to conduct field inspections, evaluate engineering risks, and prepare technical recommendations.

Effective communication and coordination skills with clients, surveyors, contractors, consultants, and government authorities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other engineering software.

Willingness to travel extensively for site inspections and claim investigations.

You must possess a valid driving license. Ownership of a two-wheeler will be an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities

Conduct pre-insurance risk inspections of roads, bridges, buildings, hydropower projects, and other civil engineering assets.

Evaluate engineering risks and provide technical recommendations for underwriting property, contractor’s all risks (CAR), erection all risks (EAR), machinery breakdown, engineering, and infrastructure-related insurance policies.

Perform site inspections and technical investigations for engineering and property insurance claims.

Assess the extent of physical damage, estimate repair or reinstatement costs, and recommend claim liability in accordance with policy terms and conditions.

Review engineering drawings, estimates, contracts, project schedules, and technical reports to support underwriting and claims decisions.

Coordinate with surveyors, loss adjusters, reinsurers, contractors, consultants, and insured clients during risk assessments and claim settlements.

Prepare technical inspection reports, valuation reports, risk assessment reports, and claim investigation reports within the prescribed timelines.

Recommend appropriate risk improvement and loss prevention measures to minimize potential losses.

Support product development and technical underwriting guidelines for engineering and property insurance portfolios.

Provide technical assistance to branch offices and other departments on engineering-related insurance matters.

Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with the company’s underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Perform any other duties assigned by management related to engineering underwriting, risk management, and claims.
