Qualifications : Minimum Intermediate (Grade 12) passed from a recognized institution. JTA/VTA, or equivalent certification in Agriculture, Livestock, or a related field.

Organisation Background

Purpose
The Social Mobilizer (Livelihoods) will serve as a facilitator, mobilizer, and catalyst for community action by engaging with Agriculture Farmers Groups (AFGs), Livestock Farmers Groups (LFGs), individual farmers, entrepreneurs, and other community structures to promote sustainable agricultural production, entrepreneurship, and income-generating Apply here https://lnk.ink/iRIUC activities. The position will support the effective implementation of livelihood interventions through community mobilization, capacity strengthening, household engagement, facilitation of technical linkages, and coordination with local governments, service providers, project staff, and other stakeholders to enhance household economic empowerment.
Professional Experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in community mobilization, livelihoods, agriculture, entrepreneurship, income generation, or community development programmes.
Demonstrated experience working with farmer groups, community groups, women’s groups, cooperatives, local governments, and vulnerable or marginalized populations.
Experience in implementing livelihood and entrepreneurship interventions, facilitating group meetings, awareness sessions, household visits, skills development activities, and community mobilization initiatives.
Experience in supporting agriculture-based livelihoods, small enterprise development, savings groups, market linkages, or income-generating activities will be an added advantage.
Candidates from the project rural municipalities or those with a good understanding of the local language, culture, and socio-economic context will have an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Professional Experience
Facilitate the formation, revitalization, strengthening, and regular functioning of Agriculture Farmers Groups (AFGs), Livestock Farmers Groups (LFGs), entrepreneurs, and other community livelihood groups in the designated project areas.
Serve as a facilitator, mobilizer, and catalyst for community action to promote sustainable agriculture, livestock development, entrepreneurship, and improved livelihood practices among target households and community groups.
Conduct orientation, awareness, and counseling sessions for AFGs, LFGs, farmers, and entrepreneurs on improved agricultural practices, livestock management, entrepreneurship, income-generating activities, and available livelihood opportunities.
Conduct regular household visits, field follow-ups, and community interactions to identify needs, provide motivation, and support the adoption of improved livelihood practices.
Mobilize and encourage the meaningful participation of women, marginalized groups, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable households in livelihood interventions to promote inclusive economic empowerment.
Coordinate closely with project staff, farmer groups, individual farmers, entrepreneurs, local governments, agriculture and livestock service providers, and other stakeholders for effective implementation of project activities.
Promote climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable farming practices, livestock management, and environmentally responsible livelihood approaches within target communities.
Support the identification, registration, and regular updating of information on farmers, farmer groups, entrepreneurs, and project participants.
Facilitate linkages between farmers and entrepreneurs with technical service providers, markets, financial services, and relevant government resources to improve productivity, income, and sustainability.
Support the distribution and proper utilization of agricultural inputs, seeds, livestock-related materials, equipment, and other project resources in coordination with the Field Officer.
Support the organization and facilitation of trainings, demonstrations, meetings, workshops, exposure visits, and community events in collaboration with the project team.
Collect and document case studies, success stories, beneficiary feedback, challenges, and lessons learned to contribute to project learning, visibility, and knowledge management.
Maintain accurate field records and prepare timely monthly reports through KOBO and submit progress updates to the Field Officer/Project coordinator.
Support project monitoring, data collection, reflection, and review processes in accordance with project plans and organizational guidelines.
Perform other project-related duties assigned by the Field Officer, Project Coordinator, or management team

Cultural Sensitivity & Social Inclusion: Ability to respect local culture, values, and practices while promoting meaningful participation of women, marginalized groups, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable households.
Behavior Change Communication Skills: Ability to motivate individuals and groups, promote positive practices, and support communities to adopt improved health, nutrition, agriculture, and livelihood behaviors.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to identify field-level challenges, develop practical solutions, adapt approaches based on local contexts, and work effectively in remote and changing environments.
Documentation & Digital Skills: Ability to collect, verify, and maintain accurate field information, prepare reports, document learning, and use digital data collection tools such as KOBO.
