Qualifications
Minimum Intermediate (Grade 12) passed from a recognized institution.
CMA, ANM, Social Work, Community Development, or another relevant discipline.

Organisation Background
Human Development and Community Services (HDCS) is a faith-based NGO working in three main sectors of health, education, and community development since 1991. Currently, it manages various projects across Nepal especially in rural regions and provides services through hospitals, health camps, public health programs, disaster preparedness and response, school development programs, teacher training, educational daycare centres for children with special needs, and community radio stations. Purpose
The Social Mobilizer will serve as a facilitator, mobilizer, and catalyst for community action by strengthening Health Mothers’ Groups, farmer groups, schools, and other community structures to improve maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), nutrition, and livelihoods. The position will promote community ownership, positive behavior change, and active participation through community engagement, counseling, awareness raising, household visits, and facilitation of project interventions in close collaboration with health facilities, local governments, and other stakeholders.
Facilitate the formation, revitalization, strengthening, and regular functioning of Health Mothers’ Groups (HMGs), farmer groups, and other community structures in the designated project areas.
Act as a community facilitator, mobilizer, and catalyst to promote awareness, ownership, and participation in improving maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), nutrition, and healthy practices.
Conduct community awareness, orientation, and counseling sessions for HMG members, pregnant women, lactating mothers, caregivers, families, and community groups on MNCH, nutrition, and health-seeking behaviors.
Conduct school health education sessions for students focusing on MNCH, hygiene, nutrition, adolescent health, and related health issues.
Conduct regular household visits to identify needs, provide counseling, promote positive behaviors, and support families to access essential health and nutrition services.
Identify, maintain, and update records of pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under two years and support their timely utilization of ANC, PNC, institutional delivery, immunization, growth monitoring, and other available health services.
Support community-level screening, identification, referral, and follow-up of children under five years with nutritional risks in coordination with health facilities and relevant stakeholders.
Mobilize community members, local groups, and stakeholders to increase access to and utilization of project interventions, including MNCH and livelihood-related activities.
Establish and maintain effective coordination with health facilities, Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs), schools, ward offices, local governments, project staff, and community leaders for smooth implementation of project activities.
Support community capacity strengthening through facilitation of meetings, group discussions, orientations, and behavior change communication activities.
Collect, verify, and maintain accurate beneficiary information, activity records, monitoring data, and field-level documentation through KOBO and other reporting tools.
Collect and document case studies, success stories, beneficiary feedback, and lessons learned to contribute to project learning, visibility, and knowledge management.
Support project monitoring, review, and evaluation activities by providing timely field updates, observations, and feedback.
Promote gender equality, disability inclusion, safeguarding, accountability, and respectful engagement in all community-level activities.
Perform other project-related duties assigned by the Field Officer, Project Coordinator, or management team.
Responsibilities
Professional Experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in community mobilization, maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH), nutrition, livelihoods, agriculture, or community development programmes.
Demonstrated experience working with local governments, community groups, women, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable or marginalized populations.
Experience in implementing MNCH and livelihood interventions, facilitating community meetings, awareness sessions, household visits, and community mobilization activities.
Candidates from the project rural municipalities or those with a good understanding of the local language, culture, and context will have an added advantage.

Cultural Sensitivity & Social Inclusion: Ability to respect local culture, values, and practices while promoting meaningful participation of women, marginalized groups, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable households.
Behavior Change Communication Skills: Ability to motivate individuals and groups, promote positive practices, and support communities to adopt improved health, nutrition, agriculture, and livelihood behaviors.
Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Ability to identify field-level challenges, develop practical solutions, adapt approaches based on local contexts, and work effectively in remote and changing
environments.
Documentation & Digital Skills: Ability to collect, verify, and maintain accurate field information, prepare reports, document learning, and use digital data collection tools such as
KOBO.
