Hiring of Consultant for Development of Training Manual and Delivery of Training of Trainers (ToT) on Rights-Based Approach, Screening and Psychosocial First Aid (PFA)
KOSHISH is a national-level organization established in 2008 to promote mental health and psychosocial wellbeing in Nepal. Registered with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu (Reg. No. 086/065) and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, Nepal (Reg. No. 25677), KOSHISH is recognized as an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) focused on psychosocial disability. It has been a member organization of the National Federation of the Disabled-Nepal (NFDN) since 2066/07/19 B.S.
The project “Strengthening Health Systems for the Provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Services in Municipalities of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini Provinces” is an 18-month initiative (November 2025 – April 2027), funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and implemented by KOSHISH in close coordination with local governments.
Project Goal (Impact Level): Strengthened health systems for sustainable provision of quality MHPSS services in the target municipalities of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini Provinces.
Project Objective (Outcome Level): Improved accessibility and quality of MHPSS services for marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities, OPDs, persons with mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities, Dalit’s, women, and other vulnerable populations, in alignment with the "Leave No One Behind" (LNOB) principle.

The consultant shall conduct one intensive 3-day ToT using the developed manual.

The consultant shall adopt participatory, learner-centred, competency-based, and adult learning approaches throughout the assignment to promote active engagement and practical skill development. The methodology shall include a review of relevant literature and existing training resources, consultations with key stakeholders, interactive presentations, facilitated discussions, brainstorming sessions, practical demonstrations, hands-on exercises, group work, role plays, case studies, simulation exercises, experience sharing, and supervised practice on basic community-level mental health identification, referral pathways, and the provision of PFA. The consultant shall emphasize experiential learning, provide opportunities for reflection and daily review, gather participant feedback throughout the training, and ensure that the training is inclusive and accessible, with appropriate reasonable accommodation to enable the meaningful participation of persons with disabilities.

The consultant will report directly to the Program Manager, KOSHISH, and work closely with the Project Coordinator and the technical team throughout the assignment. The Program Manager, in consultation with the technical team, will review and approve all deliverables to ensure they meet the required quality standards before processing payments in accordance with the agreed payment schedule.

All manuals, training materials, presentations, tools, reports and related outputs produced under this consultancy shall remain the exclusive property of KOSHISH. The consultant shall not reproduce, publish or distribute these materials without prior written approval from KOSHISH.
