Job Description

Leads & Inquiry Officer | Nepal Education Consultancy (NEC)

Putalisadak, Kathmandu | Full-Time | NPR 35,000–50,000/month (gross)

About NEC

Nepal Education Consultancy (NEC) is a Kathmandu-based study abroad consultancy operating under the tagline "Solution Focused Better Counselling." We guide students through international study pathways — with a strong focus on Australia, alongside UK options — from destination and course selection through to visa application.

About the Role

The Leads & Inquiry Officer is the first point of contact for prospective students reaching NEC through walk-ins, calls, messages, and email. Sitting between our Marketing team (who generate leads) and our Counselling team (who convert them), this role responds to inbound inquiries, introduces NEC's services, and assesses whether an inquiry is genuine and study-ready before passing it to a Counsellor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to inquiries via walk-ins, phone calls, WhatsApp/Viber messages, and email
  • Provide accurate information on study destinations, university/course pathways, and IELTS services
  • Ask structured questions to assess an inquiry's fit and seriousness
  • Decide whether to close out or pass each inquiry to a Counsellor
  • Log every inquiry and its outcome in the tracking sheet or CRM
  • Hand off qualified leads to a Counsellor with a clear, accurate summary
  • Follow up on inquiries that go quiet before a decision is made
  • Escalate unclear or high-value cases to the Marketing or Counselling lead
  • Share regular reports with the Marketing team on inquiry volume and lead quality
  • Collect feedback from Counsellors on lead outcomes and compile final reports

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree (any field)
  • Strong verbal and written communication in Nepali and English
  • Comfortable on phone, live chat, and email — especially strong at WhatsApp/Viber messaging
  • Ability to learn NEC's product offerings (destinations, courses, IELTS) quickly
  • Good judgement to separate genuine inquiries from low-intent ones
  • Comfortable with high inquiry volume and repetitive first-contact conversations
  • Organized, able to manage multiple inquiries at once without dropping follow-ups
  • Basic computer literacy (Excel/CRM)
  • Team player — works well with Marketing and Counselling teams
  • Prior experience in an education consultancy, call centre, or customer service role is a plus, not mandatory
