Role SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time Video Editor Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will lead hands-on training sessions to teach aspiring video editors, content creators, and media enthusiasts the fundamentals and advanced techniques of video post-production.
Your primary focus will be delivering engaging lectures, guiding practical projects, and offering constructive feedback to help students build a professional portfolio and industry-ready skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Curriculum Delivery
- Teach Core Concepts: Lead practical sessions covering video editing fundamentals, timeline management, story pacing, transitions, color grading, audio mixing, and basic motion graphics.
- Software Mastery: Demonstrate real-time workflows in industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and After Effects.
- Project Guidance: Assign, mentor, and evaluate student projects, offering actionable feedback to help them improve their technical and creative abilities.
- Curriculum Management: Adapt existing course outlines and training materials to align with current industry standards and social media trends.
Student Support & Mentorship
- Conduct Q&A sessions and provide one-on-one troubleshooting support during lab hours.
- Help students understand real-world workflows, client communication, and portfolio construction.
- Monitor student performance, track attendance, and provide progress reports.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Experience: 1+ years of professional experience as a Video Editor, Content Creator, or Post-Production Specialist with a strong portfolio.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of major video editing suites, specifically:
- Adobe Premiere Pro (Required)
- DaVinci Resolve or After Effects (Highly Desirable)
- CapCut / Short-form editing workflows (Bonus)
- Teaching/Mentoring: Prior experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring students/junior staff is preferred.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner.
