Nepal Integrated Development Society (NIDS), a non-profit social development organization based in Sarlahi district NIDS in partnership with Mercy Corps Nepal is implementing the Climate Resilience for Communities (CRC) project under Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance (ZCRA) in Sarlahi district, Madhesh Province. The Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance (ZCRA) is an alliance of nine organizations including international NGOs, private sector, and academic organizations, who have come together with the support of the Zurich Foundation to drive better policy and practice to reduce the negative impact of multi hazards (floods and heatwaves) on peoples’ and communities’ ability to thrive. The Alliance finished its first phase in 2018, second phase in Dec 2023 and third phase will run till Dec 2027. During this time, the Alliance will take a system approach and implement a combination of pilot programs, research, knowledge management and work to influence community donors, policy makers, and practitioners to invest in climate resilience through:

Mercy Corps is leading the ‘influencing and advocacy’ work within the Alliance, as well as making substantial contributions to work streams on knowledge management, research, and piloting innovative field programming with communities, private sector, and government.

Eligible candidates are requested to apply for the following positions

1. Position

Project Coordinator – 1

Location

NIDS’s office (at least 50% field visit)

Supervisory Responsibility

Finance and Operations Officer, Community facilitator

The Project Coordinator assumes responsibility for implementation and quality assurance of community intervention of ZCRA phase III project including Palika and district level advocacy and influencing. S/He ensures the achievement of high-quality program delivery and results ensuring Gender and social inclusion and governance as cross cutting components. S/he will directly collaborate with the Province Coordinator (Madhesh) from Mercy Corps and take leadership on field level activities implementation and district level influencing actions. S/he will collaborate/ interact with government (both local government and district government), NGOs/ INGOs and private sector representatives at district level.

The specific duties and responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following,

2. Position

Finance and Operations Officer– 1

Reports to

The Finance and Operation Officer will perform daily financial and administrative activities and will be responsible for financial reporting, various administration and finance activities, communicating with funding agencies, monitoring the budget, forecasting, and other project implementation related work.

The role of Social Mobilizer (SM) involves conducting a comprehensive needs assessment to identify gaps. on program development to address those needs. They assist in resource allocation, organize training and professional development for counselors, collect data, and evaluate program effectiveness.
