CDC Doti is a Provincial non-profit organization, NGO working for the social and economic empowerment of people under the vulnerable zone and community. It was established on 16/09/2049 B.S and has been serving since 30 years for the same cause for social empowerment, inclusive and quality access to education, Disaster Preparedness and Humanitarian Response. Over the period since its inception, CDC has had long experience working with government, international non-government agencies, community based organization in various sectors of social and economic development. In addition, CDC supports community capacity strengthening for rural development, community groups and people on advocacy development in various sectors. CDC believes in human potentials and strives to empower social well-being, community-led development, accountability to community, donors and stakeholders, government and non-government agencies. In this period CDC Doti has developed strong networking, professional relationship among various organizations, networks and structures in the district and province . CDC has hands-on experience on social development, capacity strengthening of local level government, community based organization in Nepal.

Over the period since its inception, CDC has had long experience working with government bodies, international non-government agencies, community-based organization across various sectors of social and economic development. In addition, CDC supports community capacity strengthening for rural development, community groups and local stakeholders enhance advocacy capacities development in various sectors. CDC believes in human potentials and strives to promote social well-being, community-led development, accountability to communities, donors and stakeholders, government and non-government agencies. Over this period CDC Doti has developed strong professional networking, collaborative relationship with various organizations, networks and structures in the district and province. CDC also has hands-on experience on social development and in strengthening the capacities of local level government, community-based organization in Nepal.

Currently, CDC is implementing Civil Society Strengthening for Child Rights Program in Sudurpashchim province with the aim of improving the overall status of children's rights in the Sudurpashchim province. One of the major aims of the program is to promote evidence-based advocacy in the generation and use reliable, data, information and evidence. The status report on Children in Sudurpashchim Province is envisioned as key significant documents to support evidence-based advocacy and informed decision making. However, Child-related data and information in Sudurpashchim Province are limited, fragmented and documentation lacking has creating difficulties and significant challenges in evidence-based advocacy. This is the major gap to comprehensive understanding of the status of children of the provinces in relation to existing policies, practices, service delivery systems, institutional structures and children reach across Sudurpashchim province. The available information is often scattered across different sources and is not systematically recorded or consolidated. As a result, there is strong need to integrate and interlinked through a comprehensive and coherent child status report. Also, it has been realized and expressed the need to comprehensive data and information on children to better understanding of their situation of the children and set informed priorities for policies, plans and programs addressing children’s need in the province. Thereafter, provincial and local authorities can address and priorities children's need and necessity in their plan, programs and policies.

Therefore, in response to these identified gaps, it is planned to develop a Status Report on Children of Sudurpashchim Province through a consultancy service.  The report will support effective advocacy and contribute to targeted children planning, ensure better services delivery.
