The Organizational Sustainability Planning Workshop

Jalpa Integrated Development Society (JIDS), Udayapur, is a non-profit, development- and advocacy-oriented social organization committed to supporting poor, marginalized, and vulnerable children, their families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.The organization has been working in Udayapur District to improve the quality of life of children and their families, socially and economically marginalized communities, and persons with disabilities. JIDS is recognized as a leading humanitarian and social development organization in the district, advocating for positive change and transformative community development.

JIDS is currently implementing an integrated project with the support of World Vision International Nepal (WVI Nepal) in Udayapur District. WVI Nepal's Country Strategy 2026–2030 aims to improve the well-being of one million vulnerable children across Nepal. The strategy aligns with Nepal's efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and incorporates World Vision's core project models and approaches through the Integrated Program Framework (IPF). This framework guides implementation within WVI Nepal's Area Programs (APs), ensuring a focused response to key child well-being issues in each program area. After many years of implementation, the project is scheduled to phase out at the end of September 2027.

While project funding and budgeted activities will conclude, many of the development outcomes and community-level interventions will require continued follow-up, monitoring, and support to sustain the achievements made during the project period. Ensuring that these gains are maintained after project closure will be critical to achieving lasting impact. Like many organizations, JIDS faces increasing challenges in sustaining its operations and program impact following project phase-out. To address these needs, this workshop will bring together organizational leaders, board members, and key staff to collaboratively assess the organization's current capacity, identify sustainability priorities, and develop a practical Organizational Sustainability Plan. The plan will provide a roadmap to guide JIDS and in sustaining its programs, strengthening institutional capacity, mobilizing resources, and continuing to serve vulnerable children, families, and communities beyond the current project period.
