Job Description

Forum for Protection of Public Interest (Pro Public), a non-profit, non-governmental organization, is set to implement the project “Strengthening the Capacity of Women and Excluded Group to Influence Decision-Making and Demand Accountability and Transparency for Gender Equality” with generous financial support of UN Women. Pro Public is currently is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and qualified candidate to fill the following position.

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Partial)

Duration

September to November 2026 with the possibility of extension

Location

Kathmandu along with travel for the project initiatives in different districts

Education/Professional Qualifications and Skills

At least Bachelor’s degree in economics, rural development, sociology, gender studies, or relevant field.

Preference will be given to applicants with relevant work experience preferably in implementing projects related to social accountability, gender equality and social inclusion, including professional skills on planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).

Ability to work with diverse project team, local partners and local governments.

Ability to work in a structured and self-sufficient way while understanding and adapting to project for the successful implementation.

Good communication skills in English and Nepali (both verbal and written).

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement M&E frameworks, tools, and processes in alignment with project goals and donor requirements.

Design performance indicators, data collection methods, and data management systems.

Draft of the quarterly and annual reports as per donor requirement.

Establish clear benchmarks for monitoring progress and evaluating outcomes.

Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks, track project progress, collect and analyse data.

Ensure that project activities meet quality standards and follow to the set objectives.

Collect, compile, and manage data from partners to track progress against project targets.

Ensure data accuracy, quality, and timeliness through regular checks and validation.

Monitor project activities and outputs against established work plans and objectives.

Identify gaps, challenges, and best practices, providing recommendations for improvements.

Conduct field visits to implementation of the project activities as required and gather qualitative data.

Prepare comprehensive M&E reports for donors, management, and stakeholders, summarizing progress, challenges, and lessons learned.

Document success stories, case studies, and impact narratives to highlight the program’s achievements.

Orient to the project staff and partners on M&E concepts, tools, and reporting requirements.

Attend meetings and deliver presentations as needed.

Support the overall implementation of project activities in collaboration with the Project Team Leader and the Executive Director to ensure timely and effective delivery of project outputs
