Delivering Psychosocial Counselling Training for Program Staff and Executive Board Members

Welfare Association for Children Tikapur (WACT) in partnership with World Vision International officially started to work in Kailali and is implementing the HATEMALO for Child Wellbeing and Integrated Development Project as a major focused sector in Kailali district of Sudurpaschim Province. Through HATEMALO for Child Wellbeing and Integrated Development Project, WACT & WVI Nepal is facilitating community-led support and care, and strengthening the child protection system (formal & informal) to functionalize the services in regards to child wellbeing. The organization is also advocating child well-being and other important issues both locally and nationally.

1. AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF CONSULTANCY SERVICE

WVI Nepal implements the PROTECT model to safeguard children by empowering them, adolescents, and communities to build resilience and create a protective environment. The overall objective of this Psychosocial Counselling Training is to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and confidence of field staff and selected adult community members to provide basic psychosocial counselling and emotional support to registered children and their parents/caregivers. The training aims to build participants' capacity in active listening, effective communication, psychological first aid, identification of psychosocial concerns, ethical counselling practices, confidentiality, and referral mechanisms. It also seeks to promote the emotional well-being, resilience, and protection of children and families by ensuring timely, appropriate, and community-based psychosocial support services.

The training aims to build participant’s capacity to cascade this knowledge within their communities and provide basic psychosocial support and counselling to registered children and their parents/caregivers, while identifying individuals who require specialized services and referring them through appropriate support mechanisms.

Interested applicants who meet the required conditions are invited to submit e-copy or hard copy of an expression of interest, including a financial and technical proposal (Separate file) outlining methodology, content and work plan. In the Quotation form, the eligible individuals/consultancy firms are expected to include the consultancy service fee, inclusive of any other costs. CVs of consultants, PAN/VAT, firm renewal and registration documents and other legal documentation should be submitted along with the technical proposal no later than 31 August 2026.
