Job Description
Job Summary
The Plant Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily plant operations, production activities, manpower, equipment, quality, and workplace safety. The role ensures that production targets are achieved efficiently while maintaining quality standards, minimizing downtime, controlling waste, and following company policies and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day plant and production activities.
Allocate manpower and work assignments according to production requirements.
Monitor production schedules and ensure timely achievement of targets.
Ensure efficient utilization of raw materials, machinery, labor, and other resources.
Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
Ensure production processes comply with quality standards and operating procedures.
Identify and resolve production-related problems and operational bottlenecks.
Monitor production output, wastage, rejection, and efficiency.
Maintain accurate production records, reports, and shift-wise documentation.
Ensure proper housekeeping and implementation of 5S practices within the plant.
Enforce workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Train, guide, and motivate production workers and operators.
Monitor employee attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance.
Coordinate with Production, Quality Control, Maintenance, Stores, and HR departments.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of raw materials and finished products.
Report production issues, accidents, breakdowns, and operational deviations to management.
Recommend improvements to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Perform other duties assigned by the Plant/Factory Manager.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
Relevant experience in plant/production supervision, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of production processes, machinery, quality control, and workplace safety.
