Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead research, assessment, project development, and implementation for a child-focused recovery initiative supporting children severely affected by recent floods in Rasuwa, Nawalparasi, and Dhading. The role requires extensive field engagement, coordination with government and community stakeholders, evidence-based needs assessment, and the ability to translate research findings into practical child-protection and recovery interventions.

Responsibilities of the Candidate
Lead field research and needs assessments across the three project districts.
Develop research methodologies, assessment tools, data-collection frameworks, and fieldwork plans.
Identify and assess children severely affected by the floods, including those who have lost one or both parents.
Collect, verify, analyze, and securely maintain child- and household-level information.
Assess educational, social, economic, health, protection, psychosocial, and caregiver-related needs.
Identify children requiring urgent protection or additional support and follow appropriate safeguarding and referral procedures.
Coordinate with federal and local government authorities, municipalities, ward offices, schools, child-protection mechanisms, NGOs, CBOs, health providers, and community stakeholders.
Validate field information using appropriate official and community sources.
Map existing government and non-government support and identify service and intervention gaps.
Develop recommendations and an evidence-based intervention framework based on assessment findings.
Prepare project workplans, implementation schedules, beneficiary-selection mechanisms, monitoring frameworks, and related project documentation.
Manage and coordinate field teams, consultants, and project personnel as required.
Monitor implementation progress against project objectives and indicators.
Prepare assessment reports, progress reports, briefing notes, presentations, concept papers, and donor-facing documentation.
Maintain accurate and confidential project records and beneficiary information.
Requirements
Master's degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Sociology, Rural Development, Public Administration, Education, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree and substantial relevant professional experience may also be considered.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in project management, research, social development, child-focused programming, humanitarian response, or community development.
Experience conducting field research, beneficiary identification, needs assessments, and project implementation.
Experience coordinating with government agencies, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
Experience working with vulnerable, disaster-affected, or rural communities is an advantage.
Experience managing multi-district projects or field teams is highly preferred.
Strong research, data collection, verification, analysis, and reporting skills.
Strong project planning, monitoring, stakeholder coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
High standards of confidentiality, safeguarding, professionalism, and sensitivity when working with children and vulnerable families.
Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with digital data-collection or management tools is an advantage.
Fluency in Nepali and working proficiency in English preferred.
Willingness and ability to undertake frequent field travel and work in challenging field conditions.
