We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Manager – Urban Forestry to support the planning, coordination, and execution of urban forest development projects. The role involves GIS mapping, native species selection, nursery management, community engagement, government coordination, and project documentation.

9 AM - 5:30 PM

Responsibilities of the Candidate

Prepare and use GIS mapping for urban forest planning, monitoring, and project tracking.

Identify and select suitable native plant species of Nepal for urban forestry projects.

Conduct workshops and awareness programs at universities and other relevant institutions.

Coordinate with government offices and prepare required project documentation.

Communicate with local authorities, including municipal representatives and District Forest Offices.

Collect native seeds from community forests and support plantation planning.

Plan and coordinate events before project initiation and after project completion.

Manage nursery operations and supervise field labour.

Apply knowledge of natural fertilizers, composting, and sustainable nursery practices.

Monitor project progress and ensure activities are completed within assigned timelines.

Handle multiple responsibilities effectively in field-based and project environments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Forestry.

Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience in forestry, nursery management, environmental projects, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of GIS mapping.

Good understanding of native plant species found in Nepal.

Experience in nursery management and labour supervision.

Knowledge of natural fertilizers and compost preparation.

Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under deadlines.

A valid driving license and a personal two-wheeler are required due to regular field visits.
