Since July 2025, Save the Children has been implementing the Little Steps, Bright Futures (Sarthak) Project in the Chamundabindrasaini Municipality of the Dailekh district, in partnership with SOSEC Nepal. The project focuses on the Child Grant Plus parenting program, aiming to enhance positive caregiving practices among caregivers.

In addition to parenting education, the project provides livelihood support to families from poor and vulnerable communities, encouraging them to invest more in the well-being of children under five years old. Another key component of the project is early disability screening for children, which benefits families by linking them to the Nepal government's Social Security Allowance (SSA). The SSA is provided to individuals with disabilities classified as categories A and B according to government procedures.

The project encompasses all nine wards of the municipality, with a particular focus on three wards that are receiving livelihood support, as determined by the children who benefit from the child grant. The primary goal of the project is to institutionalize the child grant alongside parenting interventions through the local government structure. This initiative is supported by the federal government, specifically the Department of National ID and Civil Registration (DoNIDCR), which has endorsed a standard that has been distributed to all local governments for implementation. Save the Children is actively promoting this initiative and providing technical assistance to local governments to ensure successful program implementation.

To document the complete implementation journey of the Child Grant Plus Parenting Program with Livelihood Support and generate evidence for learning, advocacy, policy influence, and future scale-up.

Proposal Submission Guideline/Required Documents

If an individual is a full-time staff member of another organization, a no objection/consent letter signed by the organization head must be submitted along with the proposal. This is not applicable for proposals sent through a firm.
