GENDER AND PROTECTION COORDINATOR

The Role

The Gender and Protection Coordinator will be part of the Emergency Response Programme Team and will report directly to the Response Manager. The role is responsible for leading and managing all gender and protection-related interventions under Oxfam’s flood and landslide response programmes, including those implemented through partner organizations in the targeted districts, under the overall guidance of the Response Manager.

The position will provide technical and implementation support to Oxfam’s partner organizations to ensure the effective delivery of gender and protection activities. The Coordinator will work closely with WASH and EFSVL teams to mainstream gender and protection considerations across programme interventions, while also overseeing the monitoring, documentation, and reporting of related activities to the Response Lead.

The role will receive technical oversight and guidance from the Head of Gender Justice through a matrix management arrangement.Who we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who has the following experience, knowledge and competencies.

Education: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Gender Studies, Social science, Law, sociology, and other related discipline. 

Experience & Skills:

• Hands on programme management experience with at least 3 years’ experience (strategy development, project cycle management, HR and Financial Management, online MIS, and the use of excel), 
• Technical knowledge/experience in Gender, Protection in emergency, gender mainstreaming, women’s right, feminist and right-based programming. 
• Proven track record in achieving objectives. 
• Training, facilitation, coaching and problem solving skills to build capacity of team and other stakeholders 
• Facilitate interaction between different development practitioners of various levels with strong social skills, managing processes between colleagues, partners, donor, government, and communities. 
• Fluency in written and verbal English and Nepali.
