Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Government Compliance and Regulatory Affairs
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations of the Government of Nepal, including facility registration with local ward offices, vehicle tax clearance through the Department of Transport Management (DoTM), etc.
- Ensure all required permits, licenses, and registrations are in place before occupying any new facility or commissioning the construction of a built-to-order facilities.
- Manage timely renewal of vehicle blue books, fitness certificates, insurance policies, and road tax for the entire fleet of scooters and trucks.
- Serve as the primary liaison with local government authorities, ward chairs, and regulatory bodies for all administrative and compliance matters.
- Facilities and Hub Management
- Oversee the smooth operation of all office facilities, logistics hubs, and field locations, ensuring they are functional, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
- Search and finalize new spaces and manage landlord relationships, negotiate lease terms, and resolve facility-related disputes promptly.
- Ensure all facilities and equipment are maintained in working order; arrange repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance as needed.
- Develop and implement facility standards and operating procedures for new and existing hubs, in coordination with the Logistics and Technical teams.
- Security and Safety
- Ensure the safety and security of all company premises, assets, and personnel across offices and hubs.
- Develop and enforce security protocols, manage guard deployments, and oversee CCTV and access control systems.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations; coordinate emergency preparedness and response planning.
- Budget and Cost Management
- Lead annual budget planning for the administration department, including office operations, facility maintenance, fleet administration, and security.
- Implement cost control measures such as consumption tracking, scrap management, and vendor negotiation to optimise administrative spend.

Job RequirementsEducation and Experience
- Master's degree in Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in administration, facilities management, or a related role, preferably within a multinational or large-scale e-commerce/logistics environment.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale administrative projects, including overseeing the construction or commissioning of commercial facilities.

- Strong professional ethics with a firm stance against kickbacks and corruption; demonstrated integrity in handling vendor relationships and procurement.
- Ability to function independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while managing multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and highly organised, with the ability to solve problems independently and make decisions quickly and soundly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Nepali.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel or similar spreadsheet tools for budgeting, tracking, and reporting. This is a non-negotiable requirement for the role.
Desirable
- Prior work exposure in multinational companies or large-scale logistics/e-commerce operations will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with Nepal's regulatory landscape for commercial facilities, vehicle registration, and local government compliance.
Working Conditions
- Based at Daraz Nepal's corporate office with travel to hubs, warehouses, and field locations as required.
- Role requires interaction with government officials, landlords, vendors, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
