The project is a research study titled: Mixed methods study of the ‘life after stroke’ needs of stroke survivors in Nepal”. This study aims to address the gap of community-level burden, associated risk factors and long-term problems for stroke survivors and their families through reliable, community-level data that can inform targeted prevention strategies, guide future interventional studies and ultimately contribute to reducing the stroke burden in Nepal. The main objective of the study is to identify long-term problems after stroke and unmet needs among ex-servicemen and their families cared for by the Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) and community survivors in Kaski and surrounding districts who received treatment from Manipal hospital and other hospitals.
