Media Fellowship on investigative news, feature stories highlighting LGBTIQ+ rights and challenges

The Federation of Sexual and Gender Minorities Nepal (FSGMN), with support from the European Union (EU) and DanChurchAid (DCA) Nepal, is implementing the PRIDE Project in partnership with Blue Diamond Society (BDS) and Nepal Voters' Rights Forum (NVRF). The project aims to strengthen the voice, participation, and representation of LGBTIQ+ communities in Nepal's political processes and decision-making structures at the provincial and federal levels.
To support this goal, FSGMN invites applications from interested journalists for the Media Fellowship Programme.
LGBTIQ+ communities in Nepal continue to face stigma, discrimination, and underrepresentation in mainstream media. This fellowship supports journalists to produce high-quality investigative and feature stories , article that promote human rights, inclusion, and political participation.
Through ethical and evidence-based reporting, fellows will highlight the experiences, challenges, and contributions of LGBTIQ+ individuals, amplify marginalized voices, and foster informed public dialogue on equality and inclusion.
Priority reporting areas include

selected fellows will be expected to,
A total of five (5) journalists will be selected for the fellowship from Bagmati, Madhes Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
The fellowship will run for 2 years. And it is expected to publish at least one article quarterly
