Job Summary

The NOC Engineer is responsible for monitoring, managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining an organization's network and IT infrastructure. The role involves 24/7 monitoring of network performance, identifying and resolving incidents, coordinating with internal and external teams, and ensuring high availability and reliability of critical network services.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network, servers, systems, and telecommunications infrastructure using NMS/monitoring tools.

• Detect, analyze, and troubleshoot network outages, performance issues, and service degradation.

• Handle network incidents, alerts, and service requests according to established SLAs.

• Perform first- and second-level troubleshooting for routers, switches, firewalls, links, and other network devices.

• Monitor bandwidth utilization, latency, packet loss, CPU/memory utilization, and network availability.

• Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers, vendors, or relevant technical teams.

• Perform configuration checks and support network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

• Maintain accurate incident logs, network documentation, and troubleshooting records.

• Coordinate with field engineers and service providers for link and infrastructure-related issues.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly NOC reports on incidents, uptime, outages, and network performance.

• Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for major or recurring incidents.

• Ensure compliance with network security, operational, and change-management procedures.

• Support preventive maintenance and capacity monitoring.

• Participate in planned maintenance, emergency restoration, and disaster-recovery activities.

• Provide technical support for network and connectivity-related customer issues where required.

• Work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, as required by the NOC operation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Relevant professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or equivalent are an advantage.

• Typically 1–3 years of experience in NOC, network operations, telecommunications, or IT infrastructure.

• Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge and certifications may also be considered for junior positions.
