About Shequal Foundation

Shequal Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Nepal, founded and led by young women. Our work focuses on equipping girls with skills to achieve financial independence; empowering them with learning to make informed decisions about their bodies and lives; and eradicating patriarchal norms which marginalize women and girls. Since its founding in 2020, Shequal has implemented more than 300 projects throughout Nepal, partnering with more than 100 organizations.

About the Role

We are looking for a Creative Specialist with strong graphic design skills. You will turn our programs, stories, and awareness messages into engaging visuals and merchandise that reach girls, communities, partners, and donors. Much of our content deals with sensitive topics such as menstruation, consent, and gender norms, so we need someone who can communicate these clearly, respectfully, and in a way that resonates with Nepali audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design social media posts, carousels, stories, and campaign visuals for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
• Design Shequal merchandise such as t-shirts, tote bags, caps, stickers, notebooks, badges, and campaign kits, and prepare print-ready files for vendors.
• Design print materials such as posters, flyers, banners, brochures, certificates, and event backdrops.
• Edit videos from field activities, events, and hackathons, including cutting footage, color correction, and adding subtitles (Nepali and English), graphics, and music.
• Develop educational visuals and illustrations for workshops and training modules (e.g., menstrual health, SRHR, and life-skills sessions).
• Prepare visual reports, infographics, and presentations for donors, partners, and annual reports.
• Maintain and strengthen Shequal's brand identity across all materials, from digital content to merchandise.
• Collaborate with program, communications, and fundraising teams to plan content calendars and campaigns.
• Manage and organize design files and a shared asset library.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of experience in graphic design.
• Knowledge of Animation or Motion graphics is a plus.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (or equivalents).
• A strong portfolio showing static design work.
• Good understanding of social media formats, trends, and content best practices.
• Ability to design in both Nepali (Devanagari) and English typography.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with illustration and character animation for explainer videos.
• Prior work with NGOs, development organizations, or social campaigns.
• Interest in gender equality, women's empowerment, or public health.
• Sensitivity in portraying women, girls, and marginalized communities with dignity.

Personal Qualities

Creative, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple deadlines, open to feedback, and a good team player who shares Shequal's values of equality and inclusion.
