Role Description The Video Editor role at ABSTRAKT CREATION is a full-time, on-site position based in Kathmandu. The Video Editor will assemble raw footage into polished videos, including cutting, sequencing, adding transitions, and synchronizing audio to create cohesive stories aligned with project objectives. Daily tasks include collaborating with directors and designers, applying color grading, integrating motion graphics and visual elements, and ensuring videos meet brand and technical standards for various platforms. The role also involves organizing project files, maintaining consistent workflows, and revising content based on feedback from stakeholders. The Video Editor will contribute creative ideas, stay current with editing trends, and support the broader production team throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Portfolio First: A strong reel or portfolio showcasing your actual work in commercial, social media, or digital marketing projects. Your creative eye and organic storytelling matter more than formal degrees.

Software Fluency: We are flexible on the exact tools you use, but Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve are strongly preferred. Experience with CapCut is also a major plus specifically for rapid social media turnarounds.

Aesthetic Alignment: A strong eye for cinematic art direction, high-contrast visual elements, and clean typography. You know how to elevate footage without making it look cluttered.

Footage Management: Ability to take raw, unorganized footage and systematically log, sync, and structure it into a workable timeline.

Platform & Pacing Awareness: Deep understanding of visual rhythm. You know exactly how to hook a viewer in the first 3 seconds of a Reel, versus pacing a longer promotional video.

Technical Polish: Solid grasp of foundational color correction, LUT application, and basic audio mixing to cleanly balance dialogue, sound effects, and background tracks.

Workflow & Adaptability: Reliable file management skills, proper project naming conventions, and the ability to maintain version control while meeting strict production deadlines in a collaborative team environment.
