Job Summary
The NRNA Secretariat is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Senior IT Officer with 5–8 years of professional experience in information technology, system administration, software development, quality assurance, network and infrastructure management, databases, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and digital systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong practical and hands-on knowledge of IT infrastructure and organizational information systems, with the ability to implement, administer, monitor, troubleshoot and continuously improve a secure, integrated, reliable and data-driven technology environment supporting NRNA's central office, NCCs, members, management and digital operations.
The Senior IT Officer will work under the direction of the Assistant Director, IT Department and collaborate with relevant departments, IT personnel, software developers, vendors and technology partners to implement NRNA's digital transformation initiatives, maintain critical IT infrastructure and applications, support system integration, strengthen cybersecurity, improve IT service delivery, and ensure that technology systems are secure, documented, reliable and operationally effective.
The role is ideal for a professional who can combine technical expertise, problem-solving, coordination, implementation and leadership skills to translate organizational technology requirements into practical, secure and sustainable IT solutions.
The Senior IT Officer will report to the Assistant Director, IT Department (Immediate Supervisor), coordinate the work of IT Officers and assigned technical resources, and play a key role in ensuring effective IT operations, responsible technology practices, IT service continuity, system security and the continuous improvement of NRNA's digital infrastructure and systems.
Key Responsibilities
IT Project Implementation & Management
Support the Assistant Director, IT Department in planning and implementing IT projects.
Translate approved project requirements into technical implementation plans.
Prepare project schedules, milestones, technical requirements and implementation documentation.
Coordinate with internal teams, developers and external vendors during project implementation.
Monitor project progress, risks, dependencies and technical deliverables.
Coordinate testing, user acceptance testing and production deployment.
Ensure project documentation is completed and maintained.
Conduct post-implementation review and identify opportunities for improvement.
Ensure approved IT projects are implemented within agreed scope, timeline and technical requirements.
Network & Infrastructure Management
Manage and maintain NRNA's network and IT infrastructure under the direction of the Assistant Director, IT Department
Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN and related network infrastructure.
Manage VLAN, DNS, DHCP and IP address configuration.
Monitor network performance, availability and security.
Troubleshoot network connectivity and infrastructure-related problems.
Coordinate Internet and ISP-related services.
Maintain accurate network and infrastructure documentation.
Support infrastructure capacity planning and scalability.
Assist in server, virtualization and cloud infrastructure management.
Cybersecurity & Information Security
Implement and monitor NRNA's cybersecurity controls and procedures.
Support firewall, WAF, endpoint protection and security monitoring.
Implement appropriate access controls and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
Support Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) across NRNA systems.
Monitor vulnerabilities, security alerts and system weaknesses.
Coordinate system patching and security updates.
Assist in vulnerability assessment and security testing.
Support cybersecurity incident identification, documentation and response.
Ensure secure handling, storage and transmission of organizational data.
Assist in security audits and compliance activities.
Conduct basic cybersecurity awareness activities for users.
Quality Assurance & Software Testing
Participate in functional and technical testing of NRNA software and digital systems.
Prepare and execute test cases and test scenarios.
Identify, document and track software defects.
Coordinate with developers and vendors for bug resolution.
Verify fixes before production deployment.
Support production monitoring and continuous quality improvement.
Maintain appropriate software testing and release documentation.
Software Development & Application Management
Participate in the development, enhancement and maintenance of NRNA applications.
Translate business requirements into technical requirements in coordination with the Assistant Director, IT Department and concerned departments.
Support the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Coordinate with internal developers and external software vendors.
Review technical implementation and application performance.
Support version control, deployment and release management.
Assist in implementing DevOps and CI/CD practices where appropriate.
Ensure application changes follow proper testing, approval and deployment procedures.
Maintain application technical documentation.
SmartNRNA – Central Digital Platform
Support the implementation and continuous enhancement of the SmartNRNA centralized digital ecosystem, based on the principle of:

Database & Data Management
Support administration and maintenance of organizational databases.
Monitor database performance, availability and integrity.
Perform data validation and quality checks.
Support database backup and recovery procedures.
Assist with data migration and integration.
Prepare data extracts and technical reports.
Support centralized data management and reporting.
Ensure appropriate access controls for organizational databases.
Assist in developing data-driven dashboards and management reports.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
Implement approved backup policies and procedures.
Monitor scheduled backups of critical systems and databases.
Regularly verify backup integrity.
Support restoration and recovery testing.
Maintain disaster recovery documentation.
Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery exercises.
Report backup failures and recovery risks to the Assistant Director, IT Department.
IT Governance, Documentation & Compliance
Implement IT policies, procedures and SOPs approved by management.
Maintain technical documentation for critical systems.
Maintain system configuration and infrastructure documentation.
Maintain activity, incident and change logs.
Support IT risk assessments and mitigation activities.
Prepare technical reports for the Assistant Director, IT Department.
Support internal and external IT audits.
Ensure compliance with approved IT security and operational standards.
IT Training & Knowledge Management
Conduct technical training and orientation for NRNA staff.
Provide user training on IT applications and systems.
Conduct basic cybersecurity awareness programs.
Prepare user manuals and technical guides.
Develop standard troubleshooting guides.
Maintain an IT knowledge base.
Document frequently occurring technical issues and solutions.
Support IT Officers in developing their technical capabilities.
Website & Digital Platform Support
Provide technical support for NRNA's websites and digital platforms.
Support WordPress and other CMS-based platforms.
Monitor website availability, performance and security.
Coordinate website maintenance and technical enhancements.
Support integration between website, membership and other digital systems.
Assist in improving website performance, security and scalability.
Coordinate with developers and vendors for major enhancements.
Mobile Application & Digital Services
Support development, maintenance and enhancement of the NRNA Member App.
Coordinate technical requirements for mobile application development.
Support integration between the Member App and central digital platform.
Monitor application performance and user-reported technical issues.
Assist in testing new mobile application releases.
Support secure authentication and member identity management.
AI, Automation & Digital Transformation
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive manual processes.
Support gradual replacement of unnecessary Excel-based processes with controlled digital workflows.
Assist in implementing AI-based solutions where they provide measurable operational value.
Support development of automated reporting and dashboards.
Explore practical applications of AI, workflow automation and data analytics.
Ensure automation solutions follow appropriate security and data-protection practices.
Technical Coordination & Vendor Management
Coordinate with software developers, IT vendors, ISPs, cloud providers and other technology partners.
Review technical deliverables and identify implementation issues.
Assist in preparing technical specifications for procurement.
Participate in technical evaluation of IT proposals.
Monitor vendor performance and service delivery.
Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of vendor-related technical issues.
Maintain records of vendor activities and technical agreements.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or a related field.
5–8 years of relevant professional experience in IT infrastructure, system administration, software development, QA, databases, networking or enterprise IT systems.
Practical experience in managing and supporting organizational IT systems.
Strong knowledge of networking, system administration and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of databases and application systems.
Experience with cloud-based systems and digital platforms.
Understanding of cybersecurity, data protection and access management.
Strong documentation and technical coordination skills.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Experience with server, cloud and virtualization technologies.
Experience with SQL/database administration.
Experience with API and system integration.
Experience with software development lifecycle and DevOps.
Knowledge of Power BI/data analytics.
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and security tools.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA, Microsoft, Azure, ITIL, Scrum Master, Security+ or equivalent.
Experience working with membership, CRM, ERP, MIS or organizational information systems.
