Role Description This is a full-time on-site Video Editor role based in Kathmandu. The Video Editor will be responsible for editing raw video content into engaging, high-quality stories that align with Mankaa Kura’s mission and brand guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include assembling footage, trimming and sequencing clips, applying transitions, sound design, and basic color grading to create polished content for digital platforms. The role also involves collaborating with the content and counseling teams to translate mental health topics into clear, empathetic video narratives, incorporating motion graphics and visual elements where needed. The Video Editor will manage media files, maintain organized project folders, and ensure timely delivery of videos for campaigns, social media, and educational materials. The Video Editor will have to work 5 hours per day (mostly remotely) during this paid engagement.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Video Editing and Video Production for short- and long-form content.
- Ability to perform Video Color Grading to enhance visual consistency and mood.
- Experience with Motion Graphics and Graphics to create engaging visual storytelling.
- Proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects).
- Good understanding of social media formats and best practices for video content.
- Attention to detail, strong sense of pacing, and ability to work with audio and visuals to convey sensitive topics respectfully.
- Capacity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and incorporate feedback constructively.
- Relevant experience in video production or a degree/diploma in film, media, or a related field is preferred.
- Interest in mental health, empathy for diverse experiences, and commitment to non-discriminatory, inclusive storytelling.
