Hulas Iron Industries Ltd. is hiring a Plant Head for our Birgunj plant.

The Plant Head runs day-to-day manufacturing for Wire (drawing, annealing, galvanising, barbed/binding wire, nails) and Tube & Pipe (ERW/GI pipe, hollow sections, slitting, threading, galvanising), coordinating PPC, maintenance, quality, EHS, stores and dispatch on the shop floor. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer (Plant).

Key responsibilities

• Deliver daily/monthly production against the PPC plan for both divisions

• Hold Wire and Tube & Pipe leadership to yield, consumption and quality norms via structured daily review

• Run the morning plant meeting at shift handover (output, breakdowns, rejections, dispatch, safety)

• Coordinate plant services so material, machines and manpower meet the plan

• Enforce shift discipline, attendance, OT and contract-labour deployment per Labour Act 2074

• Drive conversion cost per tonne down (power, zinc, dies, lubricants, fuel, consumables)

• Own housekeeping, 5S and safety in pickling, galvanising, drawing and tube-mill areas

• Escalate capacity/capital/reliability issues to the COO with data; execute approved debottlenecking

• Build and coach division heads, managers, shift engineers and supervisors

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in mechanical, metallurgical or production engineering

• 15+ years in downstream steel (wire drawing/galvanising and/or ERW tube & pipe)

• At least 5 years as plant head, works manager or head of operations of a comparable multi-line unit

• Experience managing contract labour and daily shift-based reviews

• Working knowledge of NS/IS specs for galvanised wire, nails, barbed/binding wire and ERW/GI pipe preferred
