CULTURE AND ARTS EDITOR – 1
Kantipur Publications is looking for an ambitious and experienced editor to spearhead our coverage of arts & culture. This role will oversee our journalism spanning film, theatre, books, music, visual arts, literature, heritage, content creation, and creative industries—developing stories that examine how culture shapes Nepali society.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead and shape culture and arts coverage of The Kathmandu Post and Kantipur Daily across print and digital platforms
Commission, edit and develop features, profiles, interviews, criticism, reviews and reported stories from in-house and freelance journalists
Identify emerging cultural trends, important voices and underreported stories across Nepal
Build a strong network of writers, critics, artists, filmmakers, musicians, scholars and cultural practitioners
Collaborate with photo, design, video and digital teams to develop visually compelling storytelling
Maintain high editorial standards for accuracy, fairness, originality and critical independence
Work with the wider editorial team to identify stories that connect culture and the arts to broader social, political and economic questions.

CULTURE & ARTS REPORTER – 1
Kantipur Publications is looking for a curious, energetic Culture and Arts Reporter to cover Nepal’s vibrant and evolving cultural scene for Kantipur and The Kathmandu Post. The reporter will cover film, music, books, theatre, visual arts, literature, heritage and creative industries, while developing original stories that go beyond routine event coverage.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
1–2 years of journalism experience, preferably in culture and arts
Strong writing and reporting skills in English or Nepali
Genuine interest in Nepal’s cultural and creative landscape
Ability to find original stories, interview sources, and report independently
WHO YOU ARE
An experienced journalist or editor with at least 7 years of relevant experience, including meaningful experience editing or commissioning culture and arts journalism
A strong writer and editor with excellent command of either English or Nepali language
Deeply familiar with Nepal’s cultural and creative landscape and its major institutions, practitioners, debates and emerging trends
Experienced in commissioning and developing original features, criticism and in-depth cultural journalism
Possesses strong editorial judgment and the ability to distinguish meaningful cultural stories from routine event coverage
Curiosity, initiative, and strong news judgment
Experience with multimedia or digital storytelling is an advantage
