Job Description

Job Summary

The Lending Specialist will be responsible for processing and assessing mortgage loan applications, verifying financial documents, evaluating borrowers’ eligibility, and ensuring compliance with Australian lending regulations and policies. The role involves coordinating with clients, brokers, and lenders to facilitate smooth loan processing, maintain accurate documentation, and deliver efficient customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Finance Brokers in managing the end-to-end loan application and lending process.

  • Review client financial information, income documents, bank statements, liabilities, assets, and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.

  • Assess loan applications against lender policies, serviceability requirements, credit criteria, and documentation requirements.

  • Liaise with banks, lenders, BDMs, mortgage brokers, solicitors, valuers, and other stakeholders to obtain required information and resolve application issues.

  • Follow up on loan applications, conditional approvals, valuations, documentation, formal approvals, and settlements.

  • Ensure all application documents are accurate, complete, properly formatted, and submitted within required timelines.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in Australian mortgage lending, finance broking, loan processing, credit assessment, banking, or financial services.

  • Strong understanding of the Australian mortgage and lending process, including loan applications, serviceability assessment, lender policies, approvals, and settlements.

  • Experience working with Australian banks, non-bank lenders, mortgage brokers, or financial institutions will be highly preferred.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to assess financial information, income, expenses, liabilities, assets, and borrowing capacity.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with Australian clients, brokers, and lenders.
