Mechanical Overseer

Job Station – Site Based

Academic Qualifications & Other Requirements

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.

1-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in hydropower projects.

Basic knowledge of hydro-mechanical equipment and systems used in hydropower plants.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise installation and erection of hydro-mechanical components, including gates, stoplogs, trash racks, penstocks, hoists, and embedded parts.

Review drawings and specifications and inspect installation, welding, alignment, and workmanship to ensure quality and compliance.

Monitor construction progress, maintain site records, and report technical issues, delays, and non-conformities.

Coordinate with contractors and civil, electrical, and other project teams for timely execution of works.

Assist in material inspection, quantity verification, running bill checking, and progress reporting.

Support equipment testing, commissioning, defect rectification, and final handover.

Identify site discrepancies, coordinate technical solutions, and prepare inspection and progress reports.

Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and site health and safety requirements.
