Job Summary

A Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages, operating coffee machines, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring a pleasant café experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based drinks (espresso, cappuccino, latte, flat white, etc.) and other beverages according to company recipes and quality standards.

• Operate and maintain La Marzocco espresso machines, grinders, and other bar equipment properly.

• Ensure consistent grind, dose, extraction, and milk texturing for every drink.

• Take orders accurately, serve customers courteously, and handle basic customer queries.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, including equipment, counters, and work areas.

• Follow opening and closing checklists for the bar section.

• Monitor stock of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other bar supplies; report shortages to the manager.

• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and presentation standards at all times.

• Assist with basic food service or other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• +2 or equivalent; barista training/certification is an advantage.

• 6 months–2 years of experience as a barista in a cafe, hotel, or restaurant preferred; enthusiastic freshers with a passion for coffee may also be considered.

• Knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and latte art (basic level acceptable).

• Good customer service and communication skills in Nepali; basic English is an advantage.

• Attention to detail, speed, and consistency under busy conditions.

• Punctual, well-groomed, and team-oriented.
