Aasaman Nepal (ASN) ‘A pioneer organization for education and nutrition’, is one of the leading Terai based NGOs led and managed by social activists since its establishment in Dhanusha, Janakpur in 1999. ASN has been engaged in developing and implementing programs aimed at protection, promotion and fulfillment of child rights in Nepal. Currently ASN has been working in 10 district under 6 Thematic Areas as: Education/Child Protection, Women Empowerment, Livelihood/ Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Health/ Nutrition and Good Governance.

ASN is going to implement the project “Advocacy & Strengthening resilience through LANN+ Linking Agriculture and Natural Resource Management towards Nutrition Security” supported by Welt hunger hilfe and invites applications from dedicated and qualified Nepali citizens for the following post based in Dhading district of Province 3 and Salyan district of Karnali Province.

1.Position: Project Coordinator-1 (Dhading)

Key elements of the Position:

  • Develop, document and organize information for effective development and implementation of program.
  • Review and evaluate other projects documentation including yearly and quarterly work plans, communication, materials, budget, preparation for meetings and other written materials as directed.
  • Ensure all the projects are carried out effectively and efficiently on timely manner.
  • Providing strategic direction  for the project and its proper implementation
  • Oversee the design and implementation of development projects in coordination with management functions (monitoring and evaluation, publication, media and communication, and training), at the district offices.
  • Monitor the implementation of project activities through regular field visits, interactions with staff, partners and primary stakeholders
  • Effective delivery of the program by establishing and promoting better synchronization and linkages with Palika, donors and program team
  • Ensure better management of financial resources for efficient delivery of the project activities
  • Mobilizing Social Mobilizer and Volunteers responsible for overall program, admin and finance management of the district.
  • Management and handling the resources and material required and provided for the completion of projects.
  • Provide technical support to administration department
  • Coordination, communication and linkage with district line agencies
  • Representation of ASN in different forums and budget monitoring

Competencies Required:

  • Maters’ Degree in Public Health or relevant discipline
  • Experiences in Nutrition Sector is more preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience covering the significant aspects of the job preferably with NGO Experience

2.Position: Finance Officer -1 (Dhading)

Key elements of the Position:

  • Ensure that adequate financial controls are in place to maintain propriety and proper accountability of expenditures;
  • Record the financial transactions and ensure that are authorized and have adequate supporting documentation, filled, maintained and can be easily extracted for the purpose of preparing financial statements; and financial audits
  • Prepare financial reports and statement as per requirement of donor and management and submit to Finance Manager
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures and contribute to preparation of budget revision
  • Timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in line with organizational and donor requirements and processing supplier invoices.
  • Preparation of BRS and petty cash day book and report for any variances;
  • Maintain consolidated register of capital assets and durable goods;
  • Prepare monthly payroll and quarterly reconciliation with the report;
  • Maintain HR records, including staff lists, staff files, time sheet and the leave register;
  • Ensure timely deposit of TDS and CIT/PF and E filing of TDS as per provision of Income Tax Act is done in time.
  • Ensure that staff insurance are done and are renewed in time
  • Check and ensure that all procurement process and expenditures of the project in accordance with the Donor procedure and organization procedure
  • Support for development in the strong internal control system to safeguard the assets of the organization and optimum utilization of resources
  • Support for conducting project audit, internal audit and statutory audit.
  • Documentation/Filing and indexing of the all accounts records in an orderly manner including district records
  • Carry out any other administrative/financial assignments as requested by the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s in Management/ Commerce
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in account/ finance
  • An excellent computer skill on Mircosoft Office and accounting package

3.Position: Nutrition and WASH Expert -2  (Dhading / Salyan)

Key elements of the Position:

  • Provide required technical expertise in Nutrition and WASH.
  • Ensure convergence of nutrition, agriculture and WASH interventions on the project area.
  • Establish close collaboration with the government technical experts in the municipality/rural municipality and ensure a good cooperation between these departments in the project area.
  •  Develop and contextualize IEC materials related to nutrition and WASH.
  • Plan and facilitate trainings on NERP, PLA/LANN and micro planning to health workers, elected local representatives and FCHVs and to ensure the quality of training.
  • Assess WASH situation in the project area and plan and implement suitable WASH interventions in the project area.
  •  To support government health facilities from project area for nutritional assessment of under five children and management of acute malnourished children.
  •  To ensure all the project activities has been timely and effectively implemented in the project area and to report the same to respective line manager.
  • Develop, document and organize information for effective development and implementation of program.
  • Support Nutrition and WASH Program implementation and monitoring
  • Make conceptual clarity and increase common understanding among stakeholders at all level on principles of Aasaman-Nepal
  • Ensure effective and functional coordination and communication between central and district office of Aasaman, among GOs and NGOs at district level for effective and quality program.
  • Assist to the PM in program planning and monitoring
  • Mobilizing Social Mobilizer and Volunteers responsible for the program, and verify the work done at site.

Competencies Required:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Science or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in Nutrition and WASH Sector
  • An excellent computer skill on Mircosoft Office

For all the posts, successful candidates will be appointed for one year with possibility of extension. Selected candidates must adherence to Aasaman Nepal’s internal policies and procedures, protocols, Code of conduct with special attention to Child Protection Policies and Do No Harm approach including funding agency’s policies, guidelines and agreements.
