World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), an international Christian relief, development, and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice, is looking for potential Nepalese candidates to fill out the following positions:

Position: Advocacy Manager (One) – based in National Office, Lalitpur

Key Responsibilities:

The advocacy Manager will lead WVIN’s advocacy initiatives to contribute to the achievement of Country Strategy priority, development objectives by creating a conducive environment for effective implementation of development and humanitarian projects. S/he will be responsible to establish linkages and relationship with local and national level advocacy for policy influence on rights of children. Liaising, capacity building, mobilization, social accountability and effective implementation of advocacy initiatives from local to national level will be the major scope of work. S/he will also be responsible to lead the effective implementation of global and national campaign and popular mobilizations including “It takes the world to end violence against children”.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

Master’s degree in social science, development studies or in any relevant field with at least 7 years’ experience in the development sector in Nepal. Strong research and analytical skills with substantial experience in evidence-based advocacy are preferred. Sound knowledge of policy context, social accountability, good facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential. Should be able to build PNGOs capacity to develop their institutional capacity for local, provincial and federal level advocacy. S/he should be able to provide strategic leadership to \NV’s advocacy and campaign across Nepal.


Position: People and Culture (HR) Coordinator (One)- based in the National Office, Lalitpur

Key Responsibilities:

The P&C Coordinator role exists to ensure that WVIN attracts the right talent to the right roles in the organization by driving quality recruitment processes. The P&C Coordinator will ensure that staff care support is available to all WVIN staff. S/he will also be responsible to manage and oversee the Traineeship Programme that includes recruiting trainees on an annual basis and working closely with identified supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

Bachelor’s degree (preferred masters) in Human Resource Management & Organizational Development with at least 2-3 years of proven experience in the related field. Should be able to deliver recruitment services from an in-house or agency environment. Should be able to apply best practice approaches to candidate assessment including competency-based assessment. Build and maintain customer relationships with all levels of stakeholder. Should be able to manage and lead negotiation processes around salary and employment offers. Coordinate staff care and wellbeing programs, and recommend appropriate pathways of support to staff in challenging circumstances. Sound knowledge of Recruitment methodologies, theory, and best practices. Knowledge of best practice in staff care and wellbeing programs. Awareness of relevant legislation is essential.

Core competencies for both positions:

Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Nepali with demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office tools and design software. Should have influencing and coaching skills (ability to work with influence at different levels in the organization), facilitation and presentation skills is essential and ability to work independently and as an active team player. S/he should be self-motivated and have a high level of integrity and honesty, willing to work under pressure; be creative and innovative with decision making and problem-solving.

World Vision started its development initiatives in Nepal in 1982 by donating funds to local groups for building hospitals and providing health care. In response to the 1988 earthquake, World Vision helped local non-governmental organisations in providing assistance to the people affected. Similarly, in 1993, World Vision helped people affected by the floods through local partners. World Vision formally started its long-term development work in Nepal after signing both general and project agreement with the Social Welfare Council in 2001.Over the past years, World Vision International Nepal (WVIN) has funded community development in 14 districts namely Bhaktapur, Doti, Jumla, Kathmandu, Kaski, Kailali, Lamjung, Lalitpur, Morang, Rupandehi, Sunsari, Udayapur, Achham and Sindhuli through its Area Development Programmes (ADP). In 2013, four ADPs in Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Kaski and Lalitpur districts phased out. World Vision is currently operational in 11 districts with 16 ADPs and projects in Lalitpur working with a goal to empower vulnerable children, their families and communities in Nepal to improve their quality of life with dignity and peace.
