Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager (BDM). As a BDM, you will identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. You will be responsible for leading our Business Development team developing and executing growth strategies. You will get the opportunity to work and network with a diverse group of clients, and  gather in depth knowledge of the recycling and scrap trading industry in Nepal. Your work will involve careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets, and enhancing the overall operations of the business.

Responsibilities and Duties

Business Development

  • Plan, develop and implement an overall business development strategy targeted towards improving revenue and profitability.
  • Routinely network with potential clients and scrap vendors  to develop opportunities in overall scrap management and offer waste management solutions.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, partnerships, products and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets.
  • Routinely identify and develop new client relationships with measurable revenue streams for long term growth and profitability. The target sectors would be manufacturing industries, MNCs, recycling companies, large scale waste producers, multi-chain stores etc.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, industry professionals, competitors, and other partners. Maintain good relationships with scrap traders, factories, corporate clients, and government institutions.
  • Apply and secure government and private tenders and auctions. Negotiate buying and selling prices on a regular basis based on market fluctuations.
  • Prepare proper quotations and proposals for clients and ensure client onboarding.
  • Track and ensure timely response to service and product requests received from clients.

Strategy Planning and Review

  • Work closely with various departments such as communications, operations, and e-waste to identify growth opportunities in each of them and establish growth targets.
  • Establish achievable growth targets, track progress and prepare reports for the same every month.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise in the growth plan.
  • Able to analyze data regarding sales and operations statistics and translate results into better solutions through quarterly goals and forecasts.
  • Manage the Business Development team (4-6 members). Supervise and track team activities and present weekly reports of the same.

Other Requirements/Specification: 

  • Proven working experience as a manager/team lead in current or past roles.
  • Experience in procurement and sales and/or in the manufacturing sector is preferred.
  • Knowledge about scrap trading, recycling sector or waste management in general is a plus.
  • Two-wheeler owners and licence holders are encouraged to apply.
