Organization: Blind Youth Association Nepal
Blind Youth Association Nepal (BYAN) is a national NGO established and run by the Blind and Partially Sighted (BPS) youth of Nepal. As a rights-based organization, BYAN plays a proactive roles in the formulation, amendment and implementation of BPS related legal provisions, and in organising and capacity-building of BPS youth across the country. BYAN works in collaboration with Goverment, Civil Society Organization, Persons with disabilities and their networks. BYAN is currently recruiting a qualified and experienced candidate for the position of Project Officer for its project “For Improved legislative and educational situation for BPS people”

Job Specification
Education Level : Bachelor
Experience Required : More than or equals to 2 years
Other Specification
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or equivalent, two years’ experience working in non for profit organization or in other related sectors; or Masters degree in social science or equivalent preferably persons worked on the youth and disability issues are desirable
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Nepali
• Good knowledge of operating office software
• Basic understanding of general administration
• Strong interpersonal and coordination skills; Good negotiation skill, proven ability to be flexible in a team with members from a diverse strata
• Excellent planning, organizational, and management skills, including organizing various events
• Proven ability to efficiently and effectively handle multiple tasks at a time
• Ability to work independently and keen to find solutions to a problem
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good understanding of issues related to Children/Youth/Disability;
• Having two wheelers license is an asset
Job Description
• Conceptual Knowledge in Inclusive education and sound understanding on Federal/ Provincial and Local Law and policy provision on Education.
• Proven Knowledge on project planning and budgeting, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation.
• Good Understanding on Disability related Local , National and International laws (UNCRPD, SDG, Disability Right Act, Inclusive Education Policy, Constitution of Nepal mostly local educational regulations)
• Respect to the diversity in particular to the poor marginalized, vulnerable and disability population
• Design promotional materials and publish brochures, newsletters of the organization, and update organization’s web page,
• Assist Director in day-to-day functioning to mobilize a wide range of stakeholders including BPS people, DPOs, civil society organisations and interested communities for effective implementation of projects,
• Support for collection of information, documentation and dissemination
• Carry out program implementation and monitoring visits in the project locations, both in and outside the Kathmandu.
Job Duration : 1 year with possibility of extension
Job purpose & reporting structure:
In close collaboration with Director the incumbent will be responsible to support for program implementation, project planning, documentation, report writing. The position will provide leadership role in management of the BYANs’ project.
