ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE
Center for Dalit Women Nepal (CDWN) is a national-level non-governmental organization dedicated to the political, social, and economic empowerment of Dalits, women, and marginalized groups and it is currently working in 37 districts of 7 provinces in Nepal. CDWN was founded by a group of Dalit women social activists and political leaders in 2016. The organization has been contributing to “A society free from caste and gender discrimination” by fulfilling the mission to “Support the creation of enabling environment for Dalit and marginalized women’s participation in public life”.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
Center for Dalit Women Nepal calls for application for the position of a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the Project “She leads”. The overall goal of the project is to strengthen the capacity of locally Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) for their meaningful participation in decision making in local governments. The project is being implemented in five districts namely Morang, Jhapa, Sunsari, Okhaldhunga, and Khotang of Province 1.
Currently, we are seeking competent, experienced, committed and dynamic candidate for the following position:

Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – 1 (Duty Station Central Office, Kathmandu)

JOB PURPOSE:
To lead for establishment Monitoring and Evaluation system for the project so that the desired changes are achieved through effective and efficient implementation of the project

The M&E officer will be responsible to:

  • Monitor all the project activities and progress towards achieving the project output;
  • Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection, and evaluation procedures;
  • Recommend further improvement of the logical framework;
  • Monitor and evaluate overall progress on achievement of results;
  • Assist Program Team to implement the project activities in the field;
  • Coordinate with the district project team to implement project activities and conduct monitoring activities.
  • Ensure field data collection of project activities and entry in google sheet a timely.
  • Assist the Program Manager in developing project strategies and activities;
  • Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks;
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual progress reports on all project activities and submit them to the Program Manager and ultimately to Executive Director;
  • Provide inputs, information, and statistics for quarterly, annual, and other reports to Project Management Team;
  • Conduct annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist the Program Manager in preparing relevant reports;
  • Monitor and evaluate the effects and impact of the project;
  • Assist the project personnel with M&E tools and support them in their use;
  • Perform other duties as required and requested by Executive Director;

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science and 5 years of work experience in a relevant field or Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social Work, Demography, Gender Studies, or Social sciences with at least 3 years of work experience in a relevant field;
  • Knowledge about the federal structure of governance ;
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure;
  • Good presentation and communication skills in both English and Nepali language;
  • Willing and able to travel to the project implementation area extensively;
  • Result-based monitoring, reporting, and documentation skills;
  • Experience in digital data management and skill in statistical software is preferred;
  • Data analysis, presentation, and interpretation skills are mandatory;
  • English language proficiency and computer skills are a must;
  • Able to work independently under the pressure of deadline;
